Hello Kitty Xbox 360 dazzles while you frag
You may remember deviantART member Ricepuppet from his days dressing up his Xbox 360 in Domo-kun stylings. He's back, combining our love for console paint jobs with all things Hello Kitty. No matching controller this time, but there's more than enough stars, shades of pink, and cuteness to make up for it. The Sanrio charmer isn't the only new mod he's got, we also spotted consoles adorned with Halo Wars, Sonic the Hedgehog, and Chocobos (of Final Fantasy fame). Lian Li replacement Xbox 360 case said to be "just weeks away"
It's definitely not for everyone, but if you're looking for something decidedly larger and less flashy than the usual Xbox 360 replacement case, it looks like you'll soon be able to get your fix courtesy of case-maker Lian Li, which is apparently set to release its Lian Li 360 case in just a few weeks. Among other things, this one promises a quieter operation courtesy of some air cooling and a 120mm fan, and relatively easy access to the internal components, although that of course does come at the expense of your warranty. No word on a price just yet, but Lian Li is apparently at least working to keep costs down, opting simply for aluminum side panels and standard screws instead of the more expensive thumbscrews it had originally planned.
Glow in the dark Xbox 360 enclosure takes you back to 1992
Truth be told, we still can't believe this is the first commercially available glow in the dark Xbox 360 chassis, but then again, glow in the dark hasn't been remotely fashionable since Bill Clinton left office. Still, if history is beginning to repeat itself, you know you want to be first on the bandwagon, and there's no better way to throw it back than with the XCM Glow Pearl case. As it stands, the shell isn't quite ready to be ordered, but we're sure it'll be worth every penny when your BFF sees just how gnarly this thing is in the dark.[Via technabob]
Zoozen's conceptual Ovo 360 replacement case for Xbox 360
We've certainly got no qualms with hacking up your Xbox 360 case to garner maximum enjoyment out of it, and if production issues can work themselves out, it looks like Zoozen will be stepping to the plate for those who want a pre-fabricated change. Of course, if you're just looking for a glossy white paint job, we're sure Colorware could arrange it, but the Ovo 360 replacement case looks more like a gigantic mouse (albeit a bit less oval-inspired) than a gaming console. The concept displays a full neon underbody kit, all the ports we're become so used to on Microsoft's own design, and a frightening disclaimer that a good bit of "development" is still in the works. But hey, if it's the thought that counts (at least initially), Zoozen's probably got a winner, so be sure to click on through for a brief videotaped overview of the case itself.[Via MaxConsole]
