The long, drawn-out, oftentimes melodramatic saga revolving around Yahoo itself and co-founder Jerry Yang is well-documented. Perhaps too well. Thankfully for us all, that ends today. As of January 17th, he has resigned from Yahoo's Board of Directors and all other positions with the company, and moreover, has resigned from the Boards of Yahoo Japan Corporation and Alibaba Group Holding Limited. We most recently heard from Yang during his interview at AsiaD, where he sounded none too pleased about the going-ons there. We aren't about to draw links of Yang's exit to the hiring of Scott Thompson as CEO (in fact, Yang praises him in his exit blurb), but we are drawing links to his sudden purchase of a yacht, a new sauna and a round-the-round journey courtesy of Abercrombie & Kent. Kidding. In all seriousness, it's no surprise to see Yahoo's stock rallying, as many felt that Yang was the major roadblock holding up an outright sale or other significant shake-up within its ranks. As for Jerry? He's off to "pursue other interests" -- but we didn't need to tell you that, now did we?

  • Leaderboard: Magic vs. melee

Magic and melee: the yin and yang of the fantasy world. It's hard to imagine one existing without the other, the spell-slinging wizard without the mace-wielding hedge knight, the Gandalf without the Conan. Do they exist in a strange symbiosis of mysticism and steel, or is one the clear superior of the other? On one side, magicians have all the power of the elements at their disposal, able to do supernatural feats of wonder with a snap of their fingertips. Of course, this comes at a cost: namely, a terry cloth bathrobe dress code and approximately six-and-a-half hit points. On the other side, melee fighters spend their lives honing their bodies to physical perfection, becoming the Olympic athletes of the fantasy world, if the Olympics had 50-meter Beheading as a category. Then again, fighters tend to have the intellect of a dull brick and try to solve every problem, including PTA meetings, by headbutting it. Who will be crowned the victor today: the wizard or the warrior? Cast your vote -- and the fate of humankind -- after the jump!

Capcom recently held an event in Japan to celebrate the launch of the Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition DLC pack. There it revealed new costumes for the recently added fighters Yun, Yang, Oni and Evil Ryu, dubbed the Arcade Challengers Pack. These outfits will include each fighter's arranged outfit for the arcades, as well as a custom costume designed specifically for the console DLC. The costume pack will be available on PS3 and Xbox 360 on July 5 for 320 MS Points ($4). On top of that, Capcom talked about an improved version of its iOS port, which is currently on sale for a buck on iTunes. Street Fighter IV Volt: Battle Protocol will release sometime in July -- Volt will sport WiFi multiplayer and three new characters: Balrog, Cody and Vega. A total of 17 characters will be playable in Volt. %Gallery-127046%

  • Rumor: Possible Super Street Fighter IV DLC Achievements show Yun and Yang

EventHubs has posted alleged screens of eight new Super Street Fighter IV Achievements supposedly tied to an unannounced DLC add-on. While the images do reflect updates to the game featured in this month's Arcade Edition release for Japanese arcades, they remain unverified by Capcom -- even if the new content is expected as DLC for the console version. SSFIV producer Yoshinori Ono responded to tweets about the possible leak without authenticating the images, though he offered a "wink" in one tweet and a seemingly joking reference to checking with the R&D department in another. We've put in word to Capcom and will let you know what we hear back. In the meantime, anybody know a good way to counter Seiei Enbu?

Here comes a new challenger! Here comes another new challenger! Straight out of TGS's Tougeki fighting game tournament, Capcom finally, officially revealed the two new characters for the arcade release of Super Street Fighter IV: Street Fighter III's Yun and Yang. If you're excited about these new characters, you could either wait for this arcade game to hit your local game center this December (in which case, you are in Japan), or you can start saving up for the unannounced, but inevitable, DLC. [Thanks, Terry!]
