Oculus Rift sets up attack run on Star Wars' Death Star
Finally, somebody has recreated the iconic Death Star trench run from Star Wars' final act for the Oculus Rift. Stationary turrets emerge near the end of the demo, but sadly TIE fighter opposition is non-existent. The developer Yavin fun (sorry!) in the video above is Boone Calhoun, though other details are scarce. Presumably Calhoun has not shared the demo beyond this one video demonstration, but we're unable to confirm this at the moment. We've attempted to contact Calhoun, whose YouTube page suggests an active presence within the Rift community, and will be sure to relay what we hear back.
One Shots: Sunsetting
Yavin IV was always one of my favorite planets to visit in Star Wars Galaxies. Especially when you would hit just the right time of day to see the gigantic planet of Yavin hovering in the sky. I caught this screenshot as I was on my way to the Jedi Temple on the jungle world. With the news of the Galaxies shutting down, this screenshot has become a bit mournful for me now.
