Star Wars: The Old Republic is officially a hit according to the latest BioWare press release. The lengthy blurb trumpets impressive first-week numbers including some 28 million in-game hours logged, as well as over 3.8 million characters created (nearly 1.1 million of which are Jedi Knights or Sith Warriors). BioWare also highlights the fact that over one million players have registered to play TOR, and the company pats itself on the back by pointing to several glowing games media reviews and comparing the use of MMO voice-acting to the evolution experienced by the film industry with the transition from silent films to "talkies."
