Loot-loving hoarders and packrats, take note: Steam has slashed the price of Gearbox's Borderlands by 66 percent. In addition to the full game, each of the three available DLC packs has also had its price slashed -- the game will set you back $10.19, while each piece of DLC is now only $3.39 each. All together, you're looking at a price of $20.36 during the midweek sale. Our elementary school math teacher would be so proud right now!

We've seen this game for super cheap already, but just in case you haven't taken the trip to the Borderlands of Pandora (the other Pandora), now's your chance. Gearbox's excellent loot-and-shoot title is only $36.99 on Amazon right now, and Jeff Bezos and company are throwing in the Double Add-on Pack (with the Zombie Island of Dr. Ned and Moxxi's Underdome Riot packs) for absolutely free. That's an amazing deal -- like coming across a legendary SG30/V3 Blast Hammer while clearing out the Crimson Fastness again (if you'd bought the game already, you'd know what that felt like). Go get you one, and once you're in the game, make sure you stop by and say hi to Scooter. He's right where the cars live. [Thanks, Goldenchild]

Some say the ideal vacation whisks you away from the daily grind to some lush, tropical paradise. However, we'd like you to know that you have a choice in these matters. You don't have to settle for sandy beaches and warm nights: you could take a vacation to the Zombie Island of Dr. Ned instead -- and grind up your Borderlands stats while you're at it. This week, Microsoft is offering the first DLC pack for Borderlands for half-off -- 400 ($5), to be exact. The deal is only applicable to Gold members and expires after Sunday. Happy headhunting! Xbox.com: Add The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned to your Xbox 360 download queue ($5)

We wouldn't blame you if you're hesitant to trust your cold, unfeeling game console with your credit card information -- when that thing inevitably goes sentient, you just know its just going to go on an overpriced accessory-shopping spree. Fortunately, there's other ways to obtain content on the Xbox Live Marketplace; for instance, a recently added GameStop listing has revealed that Borderlands' two DLC packs, The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned and Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot, will soon be bundled together in a retail package for the 360 and PC. The bundle, which is set to drop February 23, will be priced at $19.99, which is how much the DLC would cost if purchased separately on the Marketplace. Only, now you're also paying sales tax, meaning you're buying an expansion pack and paying for a few pages of a public elementary school textbook. How nice of you! [Thanks to everyone who sent this in!]

Hey PC gamers, it's the holiday season, are you sure you want to read this post? Who wants to spend the yule upset that not only are they getting Borderlands DLC "The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned" two weeks after their console brethren but they actually have to pay for it, like a peasant? Wouldn't you rather just sip some eggnog and chill out, rather than focusing on the grave, $9.99 injustice launched into the world today on Steam and Gearbox's store? No? Okay. But don't tell Baby JC that we didn't do anything to keep your Christmas spirit alive.

German Borderlands players who just had to import the gory, uncensored version of the title from another region are getting their comeuppance. According to a lengthy thread on the Gearbox forums, players who purchase the Zombie Island of Doctor Ned expansion from the German Xbox Live Marketplace can't access the new content from their imported copies of the game. We've contacted Gearbox to find out if anything is being done to refund the DLC's 800 cost to these depraved, violence-crazed importers. They certainly don't seem like the type of crowd you'd want to upset.

Are you enjoying the zombie-massacring action presented in Left 4 Dead 2, but wish the game had more ... panache? The upcoming DLC pack for Borderlands, titled The Zombie Island of Doctor Ned, might just offer the stylish undead action you crave. Check out the trailer after the break to see what we mean. Spoiler alert: In the video, zombie faces get punched into gooey paste, Were-Skags get euthanized, and birds get flipped. It's probably not suitable for the faint of heart. The walking corpse-infested landmass is downloadable today on 360 and PS3 for 800/$9.99.

Even with all the delightful new games on store shelves, we know you Borderlands addicts are still jonesing for more loot. Sure, it's not something you'd discuss with your family, but it's a disease, a terrible thirst that can only be slaked by DLC. MTV's got some more information on the first announced chunk, "The Zombie Island Of Doctor Ned." The $9.99 island (due November 24 on PS3 and 360) is approximately as big as one of the smaller areas in the game and provides around four to six hours of gameplay, according to DLC design director Paul Helquist. Getting to the island and all the delicious new weapons within is a snap: You can teleport directly to the content after you buy it, and as long as you're level 10 or above the area will scale to you. Hopefully that'll give you gear junkies enough info to stave off cravings until -- hey, are you licking the screen?!

Starting November 24, Dr. Ned is graciously opening his Zombie Island to any gun-toting maniac with ten bucks. 2K has announced the price ($9.99/800) and release date for the first Borderlands DLC pack on PS3 and Xbox 360. The publisher tells Joystiq that the DLC's availability for the PC version is yet to be determined -- in other words, it's probably not coming out on November 24. Though, that's unconfirmed and subject to pending details. 2K promises "ferocious brain-eating zombies, carnivorous Were-Skags and more" on the spooky island, but, perhaps more relevant to weapon-obsessed Borderlands players, there's more "sweet, sweet loot" to find. %Gallery-75689%

click to make big-grrr! Gearbox and 2K Games have wasted no time in announcing the first DLC for Borderlands. Heck, the game itself won't even be released until October 20. Still, we now know that, later this year, players will be able to set out for new (but unlikely to be fresh-smelling) adventures on ... The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned. Admission to this delightfully named locale has already been priced at $9.99 for PS3 and Games for Windows, 800 ($10) on the Xbox Live Marketplace. Given 2K's timing, we fully expect Borderlands 2 to be announced next Monday. Update: Fixed Zed to Ned. Dr. Zed is another character in the game. %Gallery-75689%
