Engadget Review

Amazon’s Kindle Paperwhite has long been the go-to e-reader, and for good reason. It provides an enjoyable reading experience with enough premium features to keep most literary lovers happy. Now, with the addition of Bluetooth/Audible and waterproofing, it’s even more useful and durable than before. Skip the base model and go straight to this one.

Pros

  • Audible support
  • Waterproofing
  • Improved design
  • Better-contrast display

Cons

  • Pricey when fully loaded (LTE and 32GB storage and no “special offers”)
  • No MP3 or text-to-speech support

In the end, though, I’m willing to bet that even if Kobo’s comparable product is better in many ways, most people already have an Amazon account and just want an e-reader that plays nicely with it
