Multi-layered LCD gets deep
Don't have the room to stretch out with a wide, multi-head display? Oh, you don't
have the money. But you can just pretend it's like you don't have the space and go with those guys that
stack multiple LCDs on top of one another in layers, PureDepth. It's kind of like the New York City of flat panels:
big, ugly, expensive ($1800, just about our rent), all on the vertical axis. And yes, we're all still trying to
think of a use for it, but rest assured, it will more than likely appear in some movie like Hackers 2.
[Thanks Roddy!]

there is a hackers 2! but seriously, I hate this thing.
um, perhaps i miss some higher 3D point, but you could do the same thing with transparent virtual desktop managers in software? seems this is pitched for those who have never seen a good linux vdm. *shrug* off of their website there is this:
"Financial analysts can track real-time data while watching real-time charts in the background.
Graphic artists can use the top transparent display for palettes, and the back window for editing."
as i said, why not do this in software? ---fabienne
