As always it's just a few more years away from being a reality (and probably a few years after that for being an
American reality), but Japanese carrier KDDI says they're working with Hitachi and Toshiba to get fuel cells (like the
one pictured up top) into cellphones by the year 2007.

I saw you often mentioning that you regret that high tech comes first in Asia and only with delay to the US. Did you ever ask yourself where are the US tech companies that could do the same things as the Japanese or Korean ones ? Well part of the answer is that only the US is spending most of their money on military research. Since there is a big urge to dominate other countries and have troops all over the planet. Meanwhile the rest of the world focuses on economics. I prefer the second option too :D
There is not much high tech left in the US, most US brands are filled with tech designed and made outside.
