We wish we knew what the MarkPet was
What we know: it fires a ball, or some form with a chip in it—a marker. It is surrounded by a glucose like substance, which adheres to the surface of what it hits. You fire this at an attacker. The launcher is large, contains event time and occurrence information, and it is made of metal so it can't be easily tampered with. It has a laser sight. You can attach your phone to it. It's supposed to keep you safe, but we never thought firing something—anything (besides maybe a gun, and only then if you don't miss)—at an armed assailant would ever make us safer. And it's only minutes away from a George Lucas lawsuit.

I wonder if it's related to this: Sticky sensor may keep troops out of harm's way.
You need to read the attached news to get more info. Basically marking caused by this "sticky bullet" is not detectable by human eye and can't be wash off. However it can be ezly be seen under UV light and is detectable by police dog.
It is intended to be use by bank teller and store clerk. The idea is they can use this "gun" to safely mark the criminal without being notice. (The old system use a color dye which could put the teller in harms way). This will help police to track down the criminal later on.
Hope this help ...:-)
Is this anything like a spidey tracer?...
