AT&T Wireless brings shame upon the House of AT&T
So a few months ago AT&T announced that once Cingular completed its absorption of AT&T Wireless (which was
spun off from AT&T a few years back) that they would be taking advantage of the unused name (which was only
licensed in the first place) and launching a brand new
wireless service under the AT&T Wireless name (they'd actually be leasing space on Sprint's network). Confused
yet? Now they're saying that AT&T Wireless has done such a good job of mucking things up lately and pissing off
customers that they may have permanently damaged the brand name and so now AT&T is thinking of ending their
licensing agreement due to a "material breach of the pact", which obviously required them not besmirch the good name of
AT&T. Seems like the worst they could do would be to force them to stop using the name "AT&T Wireless",
which couldn't possibly be too huge of a problem given that they're supposed to stop using the name in a few months
anyway.

Well that's too bad. I've had service with many of the major carriers over the years and I've been FAR happier with AT&T Wireless than any other carrier. I've had almost no problems with them and their coverage is excellent here in the Southwestern US. If anything I was hoping the merger with Cingular wouldn't screw up the good service I've been having with them. We had problems with Cingular.

This is the worst carrier I've ever had. I can't wait for Cingular to take them over completely in Nov.

In the first 6 months with AT&T, I was on the phone to them 5 of them trying to get my account set up the way I ordered it. The first 2 months was trying to get my wife and I's service set under the family plan. One month of "no problems" followed by 3 more months of hell trying to get my parents on my family plan. The first 2 of the second 3 months were dealing with trying to just get ahold of them. When I finally got ahold of someone there, they tell me that they are having problems with their phone system. AT&T having problems with their phone system! Sheesh!
AT&T are absolutly clueless! I Got At&t Plan In October 2004. With 3 Phones. Things started going wrong in the end of November and still it is getting worse. Dropped calls everyday!!! NO SERVICE everyday!! No Bars. Cannot hear people if I do get a call. Do not get messages until days later. Cannot call out half the time. On any of the three Phones I have. I Missed a few Emergency Phone CAlls from my son.. First they tell me it is the phone. But then called back again someone else said it was the towers. Then I was told it was the sim card. Then I was told that they were gonna FADE out all at&t towers and have only Cingular towers which at&t phones will not work with them. They will Not do anything to honor at&t Customers Other than Charge Me a 525.00 Early termination FEE!! Or I have to Merge which means Pay 75.00 per phone. THen pay 18.00 activation fees per phone. Sign a new 2 year contract! Then Monthly fees will be 150.00 to 300.00 a month. Cannot have 7:00pm free hours unless I pay 14.00 per phone (which is free now If you can get the phones to work) I have 1200 min month for 59.99 and 10.00 per other 2 phone. Cannot offer that But will Offer me 500 min. for 75.99 amonth. Plus 20.00 per other lines and etc. Fees. They Will not let me away from at&t Since they merged They say I MUST merge to get better service. This is fraud. Customer Reps. Are terrible and of NO help. Other than Telling me to migrate and sign a new contract. They sent me an old phone again with a CHARGE BUt it does not work either. PLEASE HELP. I am paying for a service that I can only use maybe half the time. it is alot of money and I have 14 more months to go. With no satisfaction. I do not want to migrate with cingular at all. I NEED HELP WITH THIS MY phones only work 1/2 the time. but I am paying 100.00 a month. But they will not allow me to pay 50.00 a month because I only receive 1/2 the service the other half the phones do not work. My phones were great until they merged. I had problems with cingular 3 years ago. I said I would never use them as a carrier so I found at&t it was good. I have contact and wrote to FCC and THe BBB which they are not a member of. They have many complaints against them. What else can someone due?
