I've ridden in one before. Well, virtually, at least. There's an arcade game (scattered throughout the country at Chuck-E-Cheeses)called 18 Wheeler: American Pro Trucker where you can select from 4 semi's, one of them being a tricked-out Japanese truck. I can't find a picture of it online, but I did come across another game called Truck Kyousoukyoku, which esentially is the Japanese version.

maybe a story on the really big trucks used at quarries?
or a picture of the engines used in tankers?
How does a modded vehicle like that pass inspection? I wonder if I could do something similiar to my aging Subaru. It's getting pretty rusty and I'm planning on welding in some fresh metal anyway...

These trucks are called "Deco-Tra," which loosely means decorated trucks in Japanese. I found an arcade that nat p. mentioned above; http://www.namco.co.jp/aa/english/truckkyosokyoku/
