Apex's MP-2000 personal video player
Apparently doing their very best to remind us that they don't just make stampede-sparking $30 DVD players, last month Apex hit us with the MP-2000, their first stab at a personal video player. CNET digs the fact that it supports playback playback of all sorts of types of video and audio files, including MPEG-4, DivX, Motion JPEG, and WMV9, MP3, and WMA, and can record MPEG-4 videos (a feature the average PVP lacks), but they're not so hot on the user interface, which they politely describe as "mundane".

If its under 300 why beotch? OEMs need to start including camera/camcorders with these things. You can take a movie with you, so why not be able to make one :-P
Apex Digital's e2go MP-2000 is a neat gadget, but trying to get movie files to play on it is very difficult to figure out and there is no documentation on how to do this. Also, the fact that it can record TV shows is great, but for how long? This is my 2nd one and it has the same problem as the 1st, as in it keeps stopping after a few minutes of recording for no apparent reason. Their technical support has no idea why...hmmmmm...
I think this product is only for people who are smart on the computer because I'm very smart on the computer and converting all my mpeg2's to mp4 were very difficult. The audio part of this player was the easiest thing on it besides the picturte viewer. They should make some addon or something that will make it so it supports all type of video like wmv,mpeg1'2'3,and,quicktime.I put all my 3,000 music files on in a snap. It was easy. Just the video part is hard. And it also has dvd copy protection. I cant record my dvds on.Whats up with that. I should be able to backup my own Dvd's. The way I got past this is kjust ripping my dvd onto the computer and transpoting it to the media player. HOPE THIS WAS HELPFUL
