Magic Desktop: kid-friendly OS
We guess the programmers at Easybits software got a tad tired of the kiddies always crashing daddy's laptop files, since they built the Magic Desktop software as a shield against the teething-set. And while an operating system for 2 to 12 year olds sounds a bit overreaching (not to mention that by 12 they'll probably be hacking into the Pentagon's computers, not goofing around on something like this), the system is pretty simple and filters out all non-kid-friendly material to enable safe surfing, uses clickable images to navigate the interface and ignores all those repetitive clickings with which little Billy always seems to freeze the system. The software is currently testing in Europe and the US.

Looks like Microsoft Bob for the 21st century...
Thanks for the link...
The software decided to stop windows desktop launching properly. Locked me out of my desktop and had to pay the fee to get access to my own pc. Email to customer support got no response.
Tried uninstalling and re-installing (well they had my money) to try and sort the bug. The software no longer accepted license code. So now I have spent my cash, no windows desktop (working from explorer) and no Magic Desktop... AND NO RESPONSE FROM CUSTOMER SUPPORT!
Wouldn't advise even going for the trial run unless you have a well specced PC and a lot of patience to deal with non-existent customer support (they have of course automated the monet grabbing).
Cool look but not good for a young child (under 7). Hoopah Kidview (http://www.hoopah.com) is still the best.
