P.E.A.R.T. brings new meaning to "drum machine"
We're pretty sure the P.E.A.R.T. (Pneumatic and Electronic Actuated RoboT) was designed specifically for all the
droves of aspiring post-electronic musicians selling their turntables for guitars, being that it interfaces with your
computer via USB and plays MIDI tracks. But make no mistake about it, all that stuff about the drummer being the most
replaceable member of the band just got very real. And like Louis and the
EZ Trumpet, Buddy Rich must also be rolling in his grave.
But in a good way this time.

It can't improvise, and it can't play along with the rest of the band. It can't do anything spontaneously.
Also, I guess this is named after Neal Peart from Rush?
I'd be very worried about trying to use this to synch with synths and other MIDI-controlled devices.
Drums take time to strike, whether with sticks or a foot pedal. This delay will put the drums significantly off the beat, perhaps differently for each item in the kit!
This can be accomodated, by modifying the MIDI stream, but it's work.
Odds are it won't be much worse than, say, Meg White (oooh, low blow).
what happens when it breaks a stick ? :O)
Yeah, The first thought that came to my mind was Neil Peart...
Besides, wouldnt Bass Guitar be the easiest thing for most bands to throw out anyway?
Being a bass player, I know there are some good artists, but hell...
Robotics and musicianship are two entirely different things, ask any real player. This "product" is the result of too much time spent on the toilet seat. Good luck.
