Vodafone V602s being used for naughty purposes
Some users of the Vodafone V602 in Japan are
outfitting their phones with a night-vision device made by Yamada Denshi. The device, meant for military and
defense uses, works with the V602 and allows its users to "see" through clothing with night-vision sensors that pick up
body heat. The device is so popular among pervs in Japan that it prompted an official statement from
Vodafone. One priceless tidbit: "we would never sell a phone that was enabling someone to see someone
naked." Well there you go. Naked-watching is not officially endorsed by Vodafone.

Well, I personally think the gadget will fly off the shelves like hot-cakes! All I want to know now is, "where the heck can I buy one"?!
I've searched all over the internet for it and found nothing for sale, so maybe they're all sold out already! ;o)
If anyone finds one, let me know where I can get one too!

This is the Sony NightShot camcorder thing again. People (men actually) were buying it because the electronic IR filter could be turned off and a deep red filter attached to the front to allow mainly IR in. Sony modified it so the filter couldn't be switched off in daylight. There are some photos kicking around if you care to visit Google.
You can do it with many digital cameras, use a dark, deep red filter and plenty of strong sunlight and you can get some great IR photos. I think man-made fibres pass IR light, hence the effect.
One for Hack-A-Day. Point your IR remote control at a digital camera or camcorder (quite closely) and press a button whilst looking at the LCD viewfinder, you should see the IR LED lit up.

Funny stuff. I know a few people who have this model. It's really quite nice actually and it takes nice photos. Just an FYI here, it's Vodafone, not Vodaphone.

This has been done before but with certain models of the Sony Handycam. Read more about it here: http://www.parascope.com/articles/slips/fs32_1.htm

This is almost certainly "Yamada Denki" http://www.yamada-denki.jp/ NOT "Yamada Denshi"
Enjoy.
