Onkyo's MHP-UW1 2.4GHz USB headphones
We're all for the idea of wireless headphones and everything—especially ones from Onkyo, who makes some very notable
audio gear—and yeah, we can understand why you'd be hesitant to get a pair of cans that have a huge base station and
all that, which is probably why Onkyo used a small 2.4GHz USB transmitter for their MHP-UW1 phones. But that means you
can only uses these ¥10,000 (about $95) headphones with a PC, which seems a little cloistering if you ask us; if they'd
just figure out a way we could use these with a USB compatible MP3 player…

Wireless headphones on the 2.4 GHz band with a USB transmitter? Why oh why do these not use Bluetooth and the A2DP? The transmitter would then be a USB Bluetooth adapter and only needed on PCs that didn't already have it. Laptops and PDAs could just pair with the headphones on their own, and for non-Bluetooth MP3 players there's always Bluetake's BT430 Bluetooth Hi-Fi Audio Dongle. Aargh!!!
I want it! Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!
So whenever I try to play music from my laptop, my wireless connection will drop eh? No thanks...I went through this same deal with 2.4ghz phones.
Moto releases four headsets for Bluetooth, none of which are stereo. It's almost as if willfully retarded collusion is at work.
Anyone else wondering if this will screw up your 802.11 gear, much like some 2.4 ghz Cordless phones?
