Not everyone is happy about a new X-ray scanner being installed at London's Heathrow airport which can see through and reveal them in all their, uh, naked glory. Really excellent for finding stuff like concealed weapons (and it'll certainly make things more interesting for airport security workers), but it's not just privacy advocates who are worried about this one. An airport spokesperson was quick to try and assuage concerns, saying that no images will be stored, it'll be operated by someone of the same sex as the person being scanned, and any x-ray scanner operator who sees images won't also be able to actually lay eyes on the person being scanned..
This is a great invention - it will make it much easier for security personnel to select which passengers they want to strip search haha...

I believe that I bought this technology out of the back of a comic book when I was a kid almost 12 years ago. It surprises me that what I bought was compact enough to fit in a pair of flimsy plastic framed glasses and only cost $9.99!!!
I would rather have this than some monkey running his hands all over me.

I think this has nothing to do with "X-Rays", it probaby uses waves in the terahertz range to penetrate the clothing.
Flying in a plane is a privilege, not a right. A privilege that requires you to give up certain liberties in the name of safety. Don't like it, get on a bus.
Besides, don't those voyers know there's plenty of what they need just a mouse click away?

Flying is a privilegde, but so is eating and you dont see me taking naked pictures of myself and advertising them, before I enter a McDonalds.
According to my knowledge there has been more bombs in shops and restaurants than on planes. So what makes airports allowed to see you naked and shops not???
Why should I suffer and take the bus, because I respect the confidentiality of my body??
