The Resident Evil 4 Chainsaw Controller for GameCube

Before you get your hopes up, we should probably break it to you that while it is nicely gory, you can't exactly use
the Chainsaw Controller for GameCube to play Resident Evil 4 all Texas Chainsaw Massacre-style. Nah,
despite what it looks like, it's basically just a regular GameCube controller (in fact, it's got all the same buttons
you'll find on a standard GameCube controller). That means no running around your living room, slashing away with this
thing as you virtually decapitate zombies and such, though it does have a built-in speaker for delivering that rusty
chainsaw sound.

I don't this it is necessary to make a controller into the shape of a chainsaw. It's just uncalled for. Parents are going to sue for sure. Why not just buy the real thing?
Someone really thought this was necessary? And on GameCube, of all things. Nintendo's getting a little desperate, aren't they?

Once again, Nintendo comes out with some cheapo product, made to eradicate Nintendo's image of those 6-yr olds playing Mario Kart Racing or something similar.

-There is no inconsistency with Nintendo since this is merely a licensed product tie-in with a 3rd party developer's game.
-It would -not- be 'much' better to play on a standard controller since this peripheral exactly duplicates the buttons and control stick locations.
-Desperate for what? Market share (which they have indisputably lost already this generation...) Mind share (which they are making strides in only with regards to how poorly they are performing... + that funny suicidegirls.com lawsuit... oh and a little thing called the DS)

You people obviously have no clue as to how many special edition peripherals and versions of video gaming consoles are actually produced for consumption a year... translucent blue 'Kasumi-chan' flavored Xboxes notwithstanding... While I agree that a chainsaw controller is a rather tepid offering, I, for one, would like to encourage the release of products like this because as a gamer I appreciate the availability of as many options as possible to customize/personalize my experience.

What are you people talking about? The controller is being released by Nuby Tech, not Nintendo. It's a pretty stupid idea, but it's no different from a Spider-Man themed controller other than what it's based on.

Are you serious, lame, desperate, what the hell are yall talking about? This is really one of a kind controller. Nintendo knows exactlly what there doing, trust me. I think this is a really cool idea and I am going to buy it, just watch others try to copy its idea on making theme controllers. Even if it sucks as a controller, REAL Resident Evil fans will appreciate its beauty.

Resident Evil is a Capcom property. Nuby is an independent company making peripherals. Nuby licensed the rights from Capcom to make a special controller to commemorate a Resident Evil project that took several years to develop. If it weren't gruesome, it wouldn't be appropriate to the license.
Do you complain about Magnavox because you didn't like a TV show? Why do you complain about Nintendo when you don't like something about a game.
Those of you who are loyal to Sony or Nintendo...get a clue. Neither Sony nor Nintendo care about you. They don't care about anyone. Sony employees leave for Nintendo. Nintendo employees leave for Sony. "Sony" and "Nintendo" are WORDS. Your decision to purchase one console or the other is not an indicator of how cool or right you are.
The question is, do you want an expensive, gruesome, horror-themed peripheral for your Resident Evil game or not?

The childern's adults shouldn't even let kids play games like RE4, so why should they let them play with the controller. It's not like some kid is going to grow up and become the next texas chainsaw massacre. It's just a cool idea and it will lead to more things in the future. If you don't like it then fine... miss your chance for a collectors chance...this isn't no pokemon card...

I also agree with punkoffgirl. No one is forcing anyone to purchase this control and I congratulate Nintendo on making this bold move. It is a step in the right direction, expecialy if they want to keep up in the market with games. The amount of people that are playing mario and mario related games is slowly diminishing. The people that are playing console games are getting older and so the market tends to move along with the majority. Nintendo is just atempting to keep up the pace.

Really, My boyfriend (KRIS) wants this and i can't stop him so anyone who thinks this is a good idea then it is fine by me.
But really a game controller is a controller to me, as long as it still works then that is good.

you whiners make me laugh all the time!!! first it was mortal kombat showing to much blood and gore, then it was survival horror games being to realistic, yet yours is the generation who would sit down of a weekend and screem and yell for your favorite player or team to win at roller derby!!!! LOL. roller derby isn't shown anymore because it's said to be too violent and dngerouse as it's real life people hitting each other, not some fictional charector in fantasy game. These games are for entertainment value only!!! never lose site of this. this is what ratings are put on them for. I was happy to see the other day a lady was told she couldn't purchase resident evil 4 for her son as he was under the age limit for it. when she kicked up a stink about it the sales assistant stood his ground even when the manager was called. she was taken aside and shown 10 minutes of the begining of the game and appologised to the manager and staff member for her behaviour. I for am going to be buying 2 of these controllers one for diplay/collection value and one for just the shear fun of it as it looks really really good and I hope to encorage more companies to put out items that go with game licences like this. I don't hear any body complaining about lighters that you can buy with game and movie insignias on the side of them!! next you will be saying these are encoraging people to smoke when all they are is a collectors peice or somebody showing pride in the things they like and feeling proud enough to display them. learn to lighten up and remeber were you came from. or have you also forgotton the "button" fad of the 60's and 70's and how contraversial they were ?
next you`ll be complaining about kissing leads to unwanted babys and want any dvd with a kiss in it banned?
RE4 is top game and may want to have your own chainsaw as it is interacting with the game,not because it can kill someone.
Ive seen on the markets ive walked round plastic chainsaws for sale. Why dnt you go on the markets and complain there?
Imagine if you stopped people from buying this the chances are people are going out and buy a real chainsaw and glue Controller on?
Its a toy at the end of the day and the game is for 15 plus

I have one of these controllers, and I think it actually handles better than the regular controllers. It took me a day or two to get used to it of course, but it's an amazing controller besides the fact it's a bloody chainsaw. My mom hates it yes, but it's a RESIDENT EVIL COLLECTOR'S ITEM. If you don't want bloody gory things, stay away from RE.
