Kyocera's cellphone for the elderly
There have been plenty of other attempts at cellphones for the elderly before, but Japanese wireless carrier TU-KA is carrying a new barebones phone from Kyocera that gets rid of pretty much everything superfluous and just has a keypad with big, easy to read numbers on it. There's no LCD screen with potentially confusing menus (to dial, just press the green button and then enter the number), and you can't do email, send text messages, take a picture, listen to MP3s, watch TV, or do any of the other stuff that is becoming more or less standard in cellphones in Japan (and elsewhere). The stand-by battery life is a staggering 840 hours, so you won't have to recharge it very often.

FINALLY! A fone without 40-gazillion phecking features we don't need!
It's getting harder and harder to find decent phones WITHOUT cameras or other useless crap which can break and take my entire phone out of commission. I want a phone that will take a beating like those old Motorola bricks with the foot-long antenna!
welcome back to the ETACS era! :-D
PLEASE tell me where in the UK I can buy the Kyocera TU -KA Thanks
This will be of help to the elderly. Hopefully, the phone also has a very loud ring and high volume for the ear. The elderly don't sleep with their hearing aids in and there is no time to put it in before answering the phone. Many elderly don't like voice mail but a missed call display would be helpful.
Where can I purchase this phone for my parents in Canada?
Please advise me where in the UK I can buy the Kyocera’s cellphone for the elderly, and also the cost.
Thanks
