Burton / R.E.D. Audio HiFi Helmet
Burton's new snowboarding helmet with a built in audio system and an ear clip design that lets those bass notes boom right where you'll feel'em might be one of the best ways you can find to spend $150 bucks. A mute button and an emergency-disconnect plug means you could also wear this baby in the real world, like on your bicycle, and still hear what bums were shouting at you.

Does it come with a warning label on it too?
"Warning, wearing this helmet in public will not only make you look like tool but will decrease your sex life exponentially!"

Actually, I don't think it would look that bad on a snowboarder. But I don't snowboard nor ride a bike so what do I know :)

This helmet is specifically meant for snowboarding(dunno where the author got the idea its also meant for riding a bike).
It will put paid to all those hours spent off piste without tunes (although if you do land on your mp3 player I doubt you would need your hifi helmet anymore!)

"Burton is a snowboarding gear manufacturer who's built an audio system into his helmet"
"Indeed..."
"I can really feel the bass! AAAAIGH!"(crunch)
"He certainly felt that spruce tree."
"Right you are, Ken."

A few things: first, Giro already makes a helmet with headphones, and its not nearly so expensive. Ive got it, and it sounds great (not that itd really matter on the slopes), and you can still hear people around you -- the only problem I had was the hard drive in my nomad freezing up in the cold. Also, this is what snowboarding helmets look like, so its not stupid-looking. And boarding helmets are not intended for use on a bicycle.

This is great, I've been bugged by my family for some time to wear a helmet when I bike around, but I always think helmets make you look lame. This actually looks kinda cool, and the headphones doubles as earwarmers. Win-win situation if you ask me.
I'm going to look at one tomorrow, there's a store that supposedly sells these things just down the street.

Hey JC, you're the tool. R.E.D. makes the most stylish snow helmets there are. And Craig, the Giro headphones suck. The burton ones are amaaaaaazing. Jon Acheson... you're a tool too.
