ATP announces new 2GB SD cards
Almost enough memory to puke at, looks like ATP announced their first 2GB SD cards to OEM (took ya long enough!),
which we assume will be showing up any day now. These little babies will transfer at 60x (10MB/s) and will supposedly
carry a $250 MSRP, a price which should drpp down to about $80 when somebody releases 4GB SD cards 15 minutes
later.

Didn't Sandisk already announce theirs 1 month ago? I think the retail for the 2GB is 220 or something. I know that the Sandisk's ~$175 @ buy.com

The SanDisk 2GB Ultra II Secure Digital Card transfers @ 9-10MB/sec $185.05 @ www.ecost.com. I do own its little brother (1GB) and I couldn't be happier with the transfer speeds during sport events. I understand that SanDisk has a line called Extreme III that transfers at 20MB/sec. I will need to do some research to see if my camera supports such transfer speeds.
I use the card with my Panasonic LUMIX DMC-FZ20.

ATP makes rugged memory cards. To quote, they're waterproof, dust proof, ESD proof, and extreme temperature resistant. They also use Samsung's SLC NAND components - the longest lasting, fastest flash in the market.
Try finding all of that in a memory card with capacities of up to 2GB (and who knows, maybe more with other formats like memory stick), for a reasonable price.
I wouldn't buy anything other than ATP.

Do you or will you have Bluetooth SD Cards with Memory? I am seeking to connect a Bluetooth GPS to my Samsung I700 but without the memory I will not have the maps.

I contacted ATP about the cards.
Their Sr. Sales Manager, David Wang, responded.
Although he didn't give a price, he said the 2GB cards "should be released to consumer market by the end of January."
