It would be alot cooler if it had a aux input or someway to stream songs over bluetooth
brian @ Dec 19th 2005 12:08AM
where does one buy this? and how much?
tebling @ Dec 19th 2005 12:08AM
This is exactly what I've been waiting for, but when will the big manufacturers start releasing bluetooth enabled head units? Personally, I won't buy until Alpine releases one (I'm already invested in their XM tuner and external CD).
John Kilpatrick @ Dec 19th 2005 12:08AM
FINALLY! What the hell took so long. Alpine, where is my Bluetooth AINet unit!
Permanent4 @ Dec 19th 2005 12:08AM
Personally, I think it would be even cooler if it read DVD+R discs full of MP3s, but that's just me...
TK101 @ Dec 19th 2005 12:08AM
Give me a Bluetooth iPod and we're in business :)
PAP1050 @ Dec 19th 2005 12:08AM
Oh, if only it had satellite radio service as well!
qube @ Dec 19th 2005 12:08AM
I am waiting for an Alpine one as well. I want iPod control from the head unit and Bluetooth as well. I'd take an AUX input on a head unit with Bluetooth though....
housedigital @ Dec 19th 2005 12:08AM
Old news...but my Acura MDX has built in bluetooth for hands free... and built in XM. Very seamless. One of the big reasons I got it over the VW Touareg.
jen @ Dec 19th 2005 12:08AM
doesn't the prius have this as well?
(touareg and MDX... creep. buy a prius!)
uwjames @ Dec 19th 2005 12:08AM
Looks like somebody is listening to sports radio, 950 kjr AM
Bonehead @ Dec 19th 2005 12:08AM
I'm still waiting to see a car radio I can plug my USB drive in - right there in the front, and play all the mp3s on it.
BTBrad @ Dec 19th 2005 12:08AM
I'm sorry if this question has been answered before, but is this basically the same idea that is put into cars that are already bluetooth enabled? Basically this is just a 'bluetooth enabeling kit' for your car? THanks for your help.
Robert Ice @ Dec 19th 2005 12:08AM
Actually the Bluetooth technology is built "in" to the unit. No external devices. It cost anywhere from $150 to $300 for a Bluetooth Car Kit for your radio. Now you have a high car radio with built in Bluetooth.
masmad @ Dec 19th 2005 12:08AM
So where's the microphone?
W. Diaz @ Dec 19th 2005 12:08AM
There should be more info on this product... Does it display ID3 Tag info? Is the remote control supplied mountable on the steering wheel?
F. de Vries @ Dec 19th 2005 12:08AM
It's a pity that the product is not available (yet?)
First read about it in a Dutch PC mag., where it was advertised for 140 Euro, wenet to the manufacturer website but the product is not there. Clicking on the picture on the top of this page brings you to them....but again no success.
Anybody know when/if it will actually be released???
LSky @ Dec 19th 2005 12:08AM
I read it in the same dutch ComputerTotaal! magazine. It seems to be old news because this entry started around mid december. Anyone know why 8Com doesn't have this product on their website any more?
roma @ Dec 19th 2005 12:08AM
It seems 8com doesn't sell this one. There are a few alternatives though: Medion MD42165; Majestic SCD-204MP3; Roadstar CD-804MPBT; Lenco CS-172BT. These are not the best brands since the cheaper brands implement new techniques first so the better brands can adopt them when proven ok.
Marius @ Dec 19th 2005 12:08AM
Would be GREAT if it actually existed....
Besides MP3 capability the BlueTooth function would be the greatest selling point!!!
Samsung D600 @ Dec 19th 2005 12:08AM
I'll be waiting until the end of the year for Alpine to meet the challenge and release a similar bluetooth enabled headset. If that doesn't happen, then I'm tempted to go with their rivals new headunit - the Pioneer DEH-P70BT. Pioneers look great and have the features but have never really matched Alpine's clarity in music quality. Pity.
exboy99 @ Dec 19th 2005 12:08AM
Pioneer has a Deck available in the UK
that is bluetooth enabled,
pairs with cellphones, can place calls
accept calls.... the works.

Roman @ Dec 19th 2005 12:08AM
Just curious if this means I could potentially stream audio from my Treo 650 phone to the player. Does anyone know?
Andy Beck @ Dec 19th 2005 12:08AM
Roadstar CD650 USB-I've just bought one,but I can't get the USB flash player to work, has anybody else had this problem ?
cesare @ Dec 23rd 2005 10:39AM
like others on this board i am waiting for an alpine bluetooth kit. i have an alpine with ipod connected to my vw... its great! a kit should be in the making although i don't know what's taking them so long... they already have a mobile hub option with Nokia that is obsolete. if anyone has any suggestions as to how to enable bluetooth please contact me @ czrborgia@yahoo.com i'd greatly appreciate it.
Klint @ Dec 25th 2005 9:59PM

Tim @ Dec 27th 2005 9:28AM
Yeah, I agree, pretty much a deal killer that it doesn't accept music via Bluetooth streamed from your phone.
