Elec Gift DMP-768T portable media player
Elec Gift Industry Co., based in Shenzhen, China, is touting the
DMP-768T, a new portable media player that includes a 7-inch LCD, 30GB drive, built in TV receiver, and support for
DivX and MPEG-4. We're not sure how many of these they've actually made, or where they're being distributed, but at
least one unit has shown up under the "Orbit" brand (which is another Shenzhen company) on
German eBay via a Hong Kong seller with a starting bid of €289 ($383). Given that Elec Gift is primarily an OEM
outfit, expect to see more of these trickling out of China under semi-obscure brand names (or not).

Wow, that would be amazing for the rear headrests of cars. Run a power inverter and do a little customizing and you've got yourself a very sleek in car entertainment system for very little cash.

hi, I have some divx which is not posted I would like to know if it is
possible to change the firmware of the apparatus or to add codecs.
Thank you.

This player handles DivX, I've tried it with DivX 5 with no playback problems, however...
Overall this is a very poor device. The screen is very low quality with rippling and uneven backlighting. All movie playback is blocky and pixelated despite some good sources. DivX movies come off worst - colour reproduction is laughable.
MP3 playback is basic, no ID2/3 tag support. Sound quality is well below par through the FM transmitter and the internal speakers are only ok for movie playback.
The menu system is unnecessarily fiddly, and in some cases the menu text is unreadable, particularly when using the TV tuner. And as for the TV tuner, despite a strong signal the picture is grainy and distorted.
Do not buy this device, after 1 day I boxed mine up and sent it back for a refund!
