MedicAlert to offer Wherify's GPS Locator Phone
MedicAlert announced yesterday that it will soon offer Wherify's GPS Locator Phone as part of a special service plan (they already hit up SanDisk to keep patient data readily accessible on flash drives). As its name suggests, the phone provides GPS location and communication capabilities, letting family members instantly find and talk to the person in need. Of course, you can also just buy a phone on your own and have grammy put it to lots of other nifty uses like Bluesnarfing and rocking out with EV-DO coverage. But if she's not feelin' cellphone frisky, Wherify's monthly service plans range from $20 to $45 (we're not sure what the rate is through MedicAlert).
