The iHome?
Is this the headless $500 Mac we've been hearing about? Every Macworld there's always a bunch of hoaxsters who think
they'll get their kicks pranking the Mac community with fake pics of some hot new product that Stevie J. is rumored to
be coming out. We can't vouch for the authenticity of these, but a bunch of pics and a video have turned up showing the
"iHome Media Center" being removed from its box. If it's legit (and again, we still don't know this for sure), then
what we're looking at is a small-form factor Mac with a slot-loading optical drive and a bunch of ports around
back.
[Thanks, Sean and Rui]

Well ThinkSecret are already confirming that is a fake. And they should know.
If you look at the right top corner of the box, it looks slightly crushed and depressed, kind of like a cardboard box. FAKE!!!

Not to metion the Media Centre in the name i don't think apple would put that phrasing on the box (XP media center) or would they???
there apple, and they think different
From the top: pictures no.1, no.8, no.9, no.10.
You can see clearly the margin of the paper (with the apple logo and iHome text) sticked to the box.
Asspecialy on pic no.8 the color difference between the two types of material(the printed paper and the box) can be seen.
Unfortunately I think is a fake.... and how happy I was when I saw it first. :(
Looks really nice, but I would have to vote fake:
1) it does look like a piece of paper glued to the top
2) the corners of the product are not very round - all other mac products have nice, round corners
3) the foam in the box does not look like what came with my last 2 laptops - it seems to be from something else
4) UK Spelling
5) the manual was a nice touch, but it could be a manual for something else, or a printout... cannot make it out in the pictures
But, if I am wrong, it looks like I will definitely have to check it out
Umm...but...I already have an EyeHome!?!? This would be actionable on elgato's behalf if Apple did make this device. For that reason, I believe it is a hoax.
The picture might be a "fake" OR a design study OR a prototype; however the news are real! Go to www.apple.com now for the breaking news. And I'm gonna get me one, that's for sure...
I saw this thing on CNN dealing with Steve Jobbs and Apple's upcoming products today. The iHome thing is correct. I'm not sure if it was called iHome on CNN but they are coming out with a box computer without a monitor or keyboard. Also, they showed an iPod that will be released that is the size of a stick of gum and uses memory.
Hmm... not too far off, though.
What a loser...
Or maybe apple gets people to do this stuff to keep others off the scent?
Hehe, this one is definetely fake!
so is it fake or not?!?
A friend told me about this minimac offer and I was skeptical at first. But I wanted to help him out so I did it. It was soo easy, and canceling the account was just as easy as setting it up (you can even do it over the internet), so I was charged nothing at all!
I am a spammer. Please spam me: surf1punk@Yahoo.com
Even though this is a fake... (the pictures on the box are arranged and look very similar to HP's Media Centre box - besides ALL of the other things people have mentioned above)...
It does look surprisingly like the new mini-Mac.
Coincidence?
Plus at the top of all, apple uses "Media Hub"...
