The WiFi Trekker
Their WFS-1 might not the hottest WiFi detector on the block now that Canary Wireless has their Digital Hotspotter
on the way, but SmartID has resurfaced with the WiFi Trekker, a brand new model which can automatically alert you
whenever you stumble upon some WiFi — you just press a button on it twice and it will beep when you're within range of
a hotspot. Please someone build this into a laptop bag for us, ok?

Eh... the Kensington (WiFi Finder Plus) one I got detects WiFi, and Bluetooth in one cool sized unit. Keychain OR neck gear. Pretty nice :)

I would be careful of the kensington one. I don't know about their new model, but I got the original wifi finder last year and it was completely bogus. It wouldn't detect a signal in the same place that my laptop found an "excellent" signal. I'm sure this one is improved, but I would look at the other brands, who offer similar or more functionality for similar prices. Who really needs to know about bluetooth "networks" anyways. Totally bogus.
you can use it as a zipzer pull on any laptop bag that has a zipper.
All WiFi finders have poor sensitivity. Most are in the -60 or worse range, whereas your typical WiFi card has a sensitivity of -85 or better. So put it this way, if your WiFi detector can detect a signal, there is one there. If they cannot, there still might be one there.
So where do I get one? Neither of the retailers listed on SmartID's website have it listed on their websites.
