Mystery Mac monitor? Not quite…
Anybody recognize the monitor that's pictured above with the new
Mac mini? At first we thought maybe it was some new
17-inch (or whatever), 4:3 aspect ratio Cinema Display that wasn't announced yet, but then looking at the other
accessories pictured (which are definitely not by Apple) we remembered what
Steve Jobs said at Tuesday's Macworld keynote about how
the Mac mini was BYODKM: Bring Your Own Display, Keyboard, and Mouse.
[Thanks, Christopher]

Something like the NEC MultiSync LCD1770NX seems a good bet:

Alright but that still didn't answer the question. I knew immediately it was a third party display but I still want to know the model name and manufacturer so when I get my mini I can buy one of these fairly nice looking displays... with USB ports on the back mind you.
The mouse and keyboard set looks like a Logitech Cordless MX Duo.
The camera is definitely a Sony Cybershot.
Ryan.. hrm.. I don't get it.. if you're looking for a new computer.. get an eMac or maybe a portable..
Getting the Mac mini and adding a bunch of peripherals (as opposed to using the ones you already have) is counterproductive, no?
Not quite sure of the specific vendor of the display, but I'm guessing Samsung made the glass.
Is it just me, or is the monitor sitting on/through the keyboard?
I believe the monitor is a Belinea 17" TFT TN Display Panel (10 17 25 - Silver /Black Style) 1280x1024 Mac/PC

I've got one (black, though); here in Japan it's labelled a Mitsubishi Diamondcrysta RDT195V, and it looks like the NEC link (above) is accurate. Not a bad monitor, I just need the Mini to go with it...

It's a Logitech® Cordless Desktop® MX™ for Bluetooth®
The camera is the Sony CyberShot DSC-T1.
It makes sense. Given that they are trying really hard to push "windows" type hardware that will easily hook up to the mac, that they would show something like this.
Anything they can do to make switching more easy for winblows users.
You mean the photo in the Apple Hardware Gallery marked "Mac Mini + 3rd Party"?

Here's a pic I took of the back of the display, if it helps:

The NEC monitor can be had for around $400...

Wont the Mini Mac support Apple Cinema Displays?
Seems like the one thing all my windows friends didn't realize after they checked out the MacMini was that they could use all their old PC Monitor. I got the same response from 6 people yesterday. "I could use my old PC monitor". Which was after they saw the MacMini at the Apple Site
That's the whole point. If you have a PC, now you can switch to Apple for cheaper than buying a low-end POS Dell. You buy the Mac Mini and just hook up your old components.
>>Wont the Mini Mac support Apple Cinema Displays?
The new ones yes. Apple has once again flopped back to a standard connector. No more ADC just DVI. VGA requires a cheap little connector.
The DVI->VGA connector is included with the Mac mini btw so you could even use that ropey old 14" CRT that does 800x600 that you've been meaning to throw out for 8 years.
There's also an optional DVI->SVideo connector so you could run it on your TV like you did your Commodore64.
If you look at the QuicktimeVR of the Third-Party MacMini configuration, the NEC logo is clearly visible on the monitor.
I think this Samsung SyncMaster 173P would be a perfect fit with the Mac mini. Throw in an Apple Mouse and Keyboard and it would look perfect. If you don't like the Samsung logo, rub it off with some acetone and stick and Apple logo somewhere on it.

yeah, the 173p looks sweet, but the magictune softare or whatever controls the osd is incompatible with macs(or at least it was last i heard), also, that monitor would be more expensive than the base model mac mini
as the very first poster stated, the monitior IS the nec seen here:

I have that monitor (NEC 1770). The monitor is good and controls are ok. Nice/clean looking... and also very durable... I have more at work and one of the bond traders punched it right in the middle. Amazingly, the monitor has no scratch, bad pixel or any damage whatsoever. Since that happened, I got a few more for my desk/pc. lol.
For my moneym the $249 (street) 15" Sony SDMHS53/W is the best fit aesthetically for a Mac mini with Apple BT Keyboard/Mouse... a 17 incher is also available... i think its the SDMHS74/W for100 more... sad they lack DVI... the HX series has these; the mini's DO include the required DVI/VGA adapter, which wasnt mentioned above...

I think the NewEra monitors with DVI win on price.
15" for 196

17" for 249

19" for 388

all DVI and all silver to match the Mini. I dont have any connection, I just think they are the best deals on a somewhat matching DVI unit. The 19" is especially sweet. :]
Dell's low end 17" LCD looks fine, and would work great with the Mac mini. You can find it on sale regularly for around $250. We have deployed 12 of them so far here at work over the past year, with fabulous results.
