NEC's N923 credit card-sized cameraphone
NEC hardly ever sells their juiciest handsets over here, and their new credit-sized N923 is of course no exception (it's only available in China). Not sure how badly we've been looking for a phone with a horizontal-orientation, but the N923 is just 85 x 54 x 9.5mm and has a 1.8-inch, 128x160 pixel display. Is there a price to pay for such a small size? The camera is somewhat dismal—just 0.3 megapixels—and its measly 100 minutes of talk is hardly acceptable.

And it is fugly as all can be.
This doesn't seem to be a good device, but I'd be all over a credit card sized cell phone that I could put in my wallet. Keep it on vibrate and you should be able to still get every call (Assuming the vibrate is decent).
It'd be a nice phone to pop the sim into on nights out for concerts, where the less you're carrying the better.
Reminds me of Zoolander
Hmm, a vibrating phone in my wallet, in my back pocket... I'd totally go for that! Call me anytime and let it ring (ooh) and ring (aah)...
Not too shabby... They should've prehaps just focussed on being a damn good phone and left the camera out. I don't mind the orientation, but the buttons could be a lot bigger and easier to use!
Actually, it makes a pretty sucky phone - to use it, you need to plug in headphones/mic set. There is no onboard speaker/microphonee.
Its small, but there are other smaller phones out here that are better.
The advert for this phone is actually pretty stupid - shows a bunch of people handing business cards to a client, then someone comes along with this phone (together with a picture of the business card displayed) and hands it to the client. What you gonna do, give him an 8000rmb phone? Stupid.

Sorry to brag a little. This phone has been out for 1 year, if not longer, in Asia (China/Hong Kong). Not quite that "new". I have used my friend's a couple of times, surely it is very handy, but the reception is far from adequate. The price is way too steep.
Re : my last email. My mistake. I was only talking about N900.
To Lawrence Sheed:
You say that there's no onboard speaker/microphone - that's a lie. Apparently you didn't do your homework. This is the N923 - not the N900! Then you say that there are smaller phones out there - another lie. This is the smallest in the world today. Finally you claim the advertisement to be 'stupid'. Well, when did anyone last see an ad for a cellphone, that wasn't 'stupid'? I'm not going to buy the advertisment, you know. Just the phone. Or is this a forum for posting reviews of adverts? I think that this is the greatest cellphone ever, so far. Too bad it's for sale only in Asia.....
I have one of these and it is great.
Works well in Australia, great reception and range and so so easy to carry. All I want is a phone, not an all singing all dancing appliance that also clips your nose hair. It is obvious from some of the comments that those idiots don't have one and probably don't have any friends either.
