Kensington noise canceling headphones reviewed
PC Mag's got a review of Kensington's new low-cost noise canceling headphones which, unlike some other competing headphones, appear to actually cancel some noise. Don't expect them to completely drown out the construction crew working outside, but for making long airplane flights a bit more bearable, they do seem to get the job done. You won't be getting Shure quality audio from them either, but for $40 you get what you pay for.

As far as I know, they work pretty well.
These look exactly like my HN-505 headphones, which I bought from CREATIVE online about 5 months ago. They do take the edge of subway/airplane noise pretty well, and their folded shape and size isn't too big to carry around. For the price, they're great, but I would like to get a nicer (quieter, ear-cupping) pair someday.
damn. the relevant URL, which I mistakenly put in an A tag, is:

I was just going to mention that, I got the creative pair free with my zen xtra over a year ago, and they are pretty good. They don't compare to my much smaller and more expensive $150 Sennheiser noise canceling headphones, but what do you expect for over three times the price.
Strange, they also look almost exactly like my Pro-Luxe NC-3 noise canceling headphones that I bought five years ago ($35). They worked great for drasticly reducing jet engine noise, but were lousy at killing off the sound of co-workers doing phone support.
