Toshiba Satellite P35-S629 17-inch gaming notebook
Toshiba just updated their line of widescreen 17-inch Satellite
P35 gaming laptop. The P35-S629 sports a Mobile Pentium 4 3.3GHz processor, 512MB RAM (upgradeable to 2GB), a 100GB
hard drive, a built-in DVD recorder drive, and either an ATI Mobility Radeon 9000 or 9700 video card. Comes standard
with SRS TruSurround XT technology and Harman Kardon speakers and is available now directly from Toshiba for $1800.

i cant complain about any gaming LP @ that price, but i'm not about to praise its styling either
If things are still the same at Toshiba as they were a few months ago, you might be better off getting the P30 and upping all the features instead of grabbing a P35. Better price (possibly), and customized.
Their "Ultimate Gaming Machine" only has a Radeon 9700 when PCI Express X800 Mobility and GeForce 6800 Go are becoming commonplace on P4-based notebooks? I'm shocked that they're even trying to release this thing into the wild and would only be more surprised if it ends up actually being profitable for them...
They have the same laptop at Costco for less. The only difference is that it has an 80gb hard drive not 100gb. Everything else is the same. If you are reading this article, I recommend you check it out. It is worth it to save a few hundred dollars.
Be careful when comparing the Toshiba model at Costco with the P35-S629 model. Besides having a smaller hard drive, the Costco machine has shared video memory, whereas the P35-S629 has a discrete Radeon 9700 graphics card installed.
I'm looking 4 a gr8 gaming laptop with a good finace deal as well as world wide annual insurance this is because I live in England can u help thx
The Costco near me sells both the P35-S6112 and the P35-S6292. The S6112 has a 3.46ghz processor and 100 GB harddrive, but has shared video memory. The S6292 has the same Radeon 9700 video card with dedicated memory as the S629, but has a 3.2 ghz processor and an 80 GB harddrive. At $1799 for the S6112 and $1499 for the S6292, I took the slightly slower processor, slightly smaller harddrive, and better video of the S6292. The $300 + tax I saved paid for a full 4 years of extended warranty with accident protection through Toshiba.
You won't find specs for these models on the Toshiba website. I think they're made for distribution only through certain resellers. That's how they avoid price matching with other resllers.
