Rollei's hot Pre-PMA action: dr5, Prego dp5200, dr5100, and the dk4010

Rollei dr5

It's not even but a couple days away and already we've been seeing some major gearing up for the PMA show in Florida; Rollei, who's been pretty quiet since this whole digital camera thing got started (save for the novelty that was their mini Digital RolleiFlex) is turning itself around, and is getting up to bat with their new lineup of digital products that's sure to make art school kids the nation over squeel with delight. We're gonna give it to you straight, so hold on tight.

Their 5-megapixel dr5 (pictured above) will be out as of March, and features a 4.8x super wide-angle zoom lens, SD slot, 0.8 second startup time, 0.1 second shutter lag, and can take either AAs or a li-ion battery pack all in a 3.9 x 2.1 x 1-inch sized form factor. This definitely appears to be the highlight of their new offerings, but click on to see the rest.

Rollei dp5200

Rollei?s Prego dp5200 is your straight 3x zoom 5.2-megapixel shooter with a 2.5-inch display and one ?dem fancy metal bodies. It too takes SD, and will end up at about 3.5 x 2.1 x 0.94-inches; they want $400 for one.

Rollei dr5100

Their dr5100 is a bit more on the technical side?the 5.1-megapixel camera takes SD, has 16MB of internal memory, a 0.12 shutter lag, 1.2 second startup, hot shoe, live histogram feature, wide-angle lens, 1.8-inch screen, and takes AAs or a li-ion battery pack, like the dr5. But unlike the dr5, this camera is significantly larger: about 4.5 x 2.3 x 1.1-inches. It should retail for $400.

Rollei dk4010

Finally, the dk4010 will be a higher end digital (available in October), which they?ve oddly given a scant 4-megapixel CCD; it will feature a 10x zoom lens, SD slot, 1.5-inch VGA-resolution viewfinder, 30fps VGA video recording, and unlimited continuous shooting. It also tkaes AAs, and is a bit of a heavyweight at about 11-ounces and 4.2 x 2.9 x 2.4-inches; expect it to go for $500.
