The exhaust flamethrower kit
We have to admit, we're pretty skeptical of pretty much anything that shoots flames for under $50 unless it's a
butane lighter, but who are we to argue with a budget exhaust flamethrower kit for fifty bucks? Granted, it may be
dangerous not only for the driver, but, say, for the many pedestrians who cross past the back of a car during rush hour
in New York, but this is the closest you're ever going to get to having a Batmobile so we're not going to spoil your
fun, alright?

I'm pretty sure they did something like this on an episode of Pimp My Ride. It was pretty sweet, but the owner of the shop made them take it off as it is definitely not street legal. I guess, at least, not in California.
according to the google ads just under the article, you can get one for $30.
People have been doing this for years. You just put an extra fuel injector on your exhaust pipe and a switch inside the car. Route some fuel line and away you go. Totally illegal however, as previously stated.
Holy crap that's awesome just think of how much fun you could have when you get pulled over by the cop and they walk behind your car
the ds is a piece of crap
Dumbest thing ever. What is your car, a frigging dragon?
I doubt it would even work as described on the website of the seller on modern car without seperate fuel injection into the tailpipe as the whole point of modern electronic systems is to have full combustion..and with an older per cat car perhaps tuned to run rich the chances of a muffler (and perhaps car) destroying backfire would seem to me to be quite large... I would rig up a pair of propane weed burners (perhaps with added O2 injectionDG&R)if I wanted this effect! VBG
I think it's mostly just dangerous for the driver. I mean how is any pedestrian NOT going to notice a 3ft flame shooting out of your tailpipe. The only possible exception being someone who is blind. As for other drivers, screw them if their cars get burned it's their fault for tailgating.
I spent less than 15 dollars and get about a five foot flame. Go to your local parts store and use some ingenuity.
The exhaust pipe behind the muffler is not hot enough to ignite gasoline by itself, so if you notice, these kits include a spark plug as an ignition source.
My dad this with his hot rods back in the 40's-50's. I think the lack of catalytic converter and other exhaust filters helped create a nice toxic, ignitable gas. He made no mention of routing gasoline through the tailpipe to cause the flame (perhaps he did though), but he did say that a spark plug was used to ignite the exhaust.
I rost weiners and marshmellows with the set up i have. 2.5 inch dual pipes with a 4.5 inch flame that will roast the windsheid off the nearest car. My truck is lifted 16 inches with 44 boggers and the pipe are pretty high.
We have ignited campfires numerous times with them....
I like it, lol
Google does provide links to decent looking flame kit sites, if your on a budget and/or are not looking for 20 ft flames like most kits provide
You dont need to spent $50 for the kits... you could simply make them yourself, all you would need is switch, wires, ignition coil, spark plugs, fuse, and relay.
