Binary LED watch tells time and more…
...it proclaims your geekiness. The watch has two rows of red LEDs from which, if you're so inclined, you can
read the time. It has a stainless steel finish, a genuine leather strap, and comes in a stylish brushed metal
box. There's really not much else we can say about this. You'll either completely dig it or you
won't. It'll set you back £49.95 (about $87US).

There are 10 types of people, those who understand binary and those who don't. Only 01 would like this watch.

This watch has been out for many months now. I hardly call it "news worthy".
Mad Cow @ Dec 19th 2005 2:14AM
I second the "not news worthyness" of this. Thinkgeek.com (http://www.thinkgeek.com/gadgets/watches/6a17/)
has had these things long enough for about 15 really geeky people to send in "action shots". (Click on the actions shots tab on the top of the page.) They also have it with blue LEDs and it's only $70. Yay for the slow news day!

I've got one, it's great!

While I agree on the non-newsworthyness of this, as I'm also a regular Thinkgeek shopper and haver seen it there for a while now, I have to ask what happened to Watch this Wednesday? I used to love seeing all the creative watches that appeared in that column! I especially liked the nixie tube watch! (link below)

Pimp Watch is better
darryl @ Dec 19th 2005 2:14AM
If you'd actually wear that watch, here's a link to a cooler LED type watch. Not binary, but equally geeky.

i just bought mine a few weeks ago. i love it. partly becuase i have a blue led obsession.
Peter Rojas @ Dec 19th 2005 2:14AM
Why are you guys so obsessed with whether this is newsworthy or not? Engadget is NOT a news site, we're a gadgets weblog, and cover what interests us. If something happens to be a few months old, I suggest you learn how to scroll down and read the next item.
Mad Cow @ Dec 19th 2005 2:14AM
Wow Pete. Didn't mean to tick you off. I guess when the About Engadget statment is, "Engadget is a web magazine with obsessive daily coverage of everything NEW in gadgets and consumer electronics" (emphasis added) we just don't expect to see something this geeky slip by you all for so long. Maybe we're just ticked off that we didn't think to send it in to you guys first. Maybe we would rather just hear more about the Xbox 1080, or iPod mini-shuffle-color-3D! In other words, I'm not news worthy obssesed, just wanting something new. I do love me some scroll button, though. And, of course, Engadget.
