Paris Hilton's hacker was calling her for two months
We're still not exactly sure how Paris Hilton's Sidekick got hacked, but we just got word from a very trusted source who was able to get us some inside dirt about what was going on. Turns out that someone had been calling Paris on her Sidekick for a couple of months, telling her that something bad was going to happen to her and threatening to mess her up (remember how she had complained back in January that someone was reading her email?). Then last week while she was at Disney World (seriously!) she got one last phone call from the hacker telling her that today was going to be the day something finally happened to her (our source says he said something along the lines of "It's gonna happen now."). A few hours later she started getting tons of phone calls from all sorts of random people (care to guess what'd happened?), at which point she freaked out and flew home on her private jet. Harsh.

the "hacker" used the forgot password feature on the t-mobile website. there is a list of choices for your question. and one of which was "what is the name of your favorite pet?" the 1337 hax0r figured that is the question she would pick, and the answer being tinkerbell, her dog, which was also correct.
Brandon @ Dec 19th 2005 12:10AM
/ yea but doesnt tmobile then email or sms the password to u, so the hacker would have to get into the email account to get the new password right?
tweaq @ Dec 19th 2005 12:10AM
not sure, that is just what i read....somewhere. or maybe they just let you reset your password, im not sure.
Geoff @ Dec 19th 2005 12:10AM
Boy, forced her to fly home from Disneyworld because she was so distraught. Oh, the humanity!!!
anon @ Dec 19th 2005 12:10AM
The tmobile website lets you reset the password right then and there if you can answer the "secret" question. why did she pick that question? doy!
Ignite++ @ Dec 19th 2005 12:10AM
why? because she's a fibbergitibbet!
//austin @ Dec 19th 2005 12:10AM
That's a real strange way of asking a girl on a date.

Man, you kinda have to feel sorry for her after reading that.

She does not have a private jet. She is not nearly wealthy enough. The supposed "Hilton Fortune" is largely hype.

the wannabe h@XoR shoulda kept the info private and continued to steal all the nudie pics she takes of herself hehe

I hate Paris Hilton, but that's pretty lame to threaten and scare her like that. It's stupid when little "hackers" think they are mastermind terrorists or something.
Jeff @ Dec 19th 2005 12:10AM
"Heh that guy's my hero, give that hoe what she deserves"
Yeah, because I'm sure she wronged you personally so much that she deserved to have all of her personal info splashed all over the internet.
What the hell is wrong with you people?
Grandpa @ Dec 19th 2005 12:10AM
Why does she "deserve" this again? What kind of 50's throwback are you? A "ho"?
You are the stupid shit.
The "hacker" sounds like a garden variety dickwad.
Dean Reilly @ Dec 19th 2005 12:10AM
No one deserves to be harassed, digitally stalked and have their privacy invaded. This just seems wrong to taunt and emotionally attack someone for months.
In response to #5
You dont think its ok to be distraught after some guy had been ringing you for months and threatening you that something was going to happen to you and then when the day comes that its meant to happen something does? You start to get phone calls from masses of people you don't know, saying things you can probably imagine from those first people who managed to get the number.
Show some compassion.
douglas @ Dec 19th 2005 12:10AM
i don't care who she is or what she's done... NOONE deserves that. i would be freaked out too - sounds scary to me. what? cause she has money and some version of celebrity she should get harrassed, threatened and abused?
i hope they find this guy and lock him up.
logicnazi @ Dec 19th 2005 12:10AM
I still agree with the people who claimed this was staged.
For one I thought the first paris hilton sex tape gave us evidence of her heterosexuality. Now perhaps she is bi but I find it surprising that there just happened to be pictures of and another women naked. Hmm, could it be that PR people know naked lesbianism gets her way more interest than another pic of her with a man.
This of course begs the question of who is taking all these shots. Why the hell does *paris* have pictures of *her* naked and kissing her lesbian lover on *her* sidekick. Wouldn't she be keeping picturs with her lover naked? One would think if you went to the trouble to get someone else to take naked pics of you and your lesbian lover you would at least bother to get some pics with her naked.
For that matter why are so many of the shots of paris? Who the hell keeps this many shots of them, most of them looking like professional style model shots. I mean dear god who puts this (http://www.joeytdog.com/gallery/getmore/Photo2026 ) picture on their own sidekick? What you need to get a quick look at your stylish black and white glamor shot while on the rides at disneyland?
Could it be that paris's agent realizes she is only popular because her porn video gave her a sexy ditzy and slightly naughty girl buzz? I mean what better way to generate more of the same PR. Sure, maybe she pisses off some of her celebrity friends (or maybe these were numbers that had already been discovered or perhaps they were in it) but maybe she is willing to do that to stay in the spotlight. Of course telling the FBI some cock-and-bull story only makes the entire deal more believable and they can probably settle with the FBI out of court for some cash for any fallout.
Or perhaps more likely paris's PR agents knew quite well her sidekick could be hacked after it happened last month. Knowing this they give her an easily breakable password and make sure her personal details aren't exactly secret and you leave info you want to get out on the sidekick. Maybe this whole bit about the stalker is even real (or the PR guy paid some low-life to do it) but it doesn't mean the information release wasn't delibrate.

I don't care much for Paris Hilton. Just seeing the ads for her show is almost painful for me and I'm a guy. But that's just some creepy low life um "stuff" and I don't know how anybody would set them self up for that. I hope the guy gets at least 20 years for that. Even if he couldn't actually reach her personally to do her physical harm he might have opened the door for someone else and that's just wrong.
Aioue tp @ Dec 19th 2005 12:10AM
This guy is just a simple criminal.
Not only did he steal her private information, he threatened and psychologically harassed her.
This is needs a lot of concern.
Kevin @ Dec 19th 2005 12:10AM
CaptSnuffy, you are a fucking wacko. You deserve to be gutshot for wishing this kind of psychological harassment on someone, no matter how annoying they are.
Tyme @ Dec 19th 2005 12:10AM
he didn't really do much (besides the whole calling her thing). When you think about it, tons of people probably get there accounts of things hacked and nuthing happens. thats life. we accept it. Plus, he didnt even steal her pw, just guessed right to her question. i think this should all be a lesson for paris...
Cambob @ Dec 19th 2005 12:10AM
She's a stupid, spoiled whore and it's good to see her get her share of misfortune. No she hasn't done anything to me personally, but she's incredibly annoying and has no talent. Why is she famous and why oh why won't she go away?
Sheniferous @ Dec 19th 2005 12:10AM
yep... everyone talking about her wonders why she's famous. hmm... maybe cuz you're sitting here talking about her. don't give her the time of day and even post your opinions on her. not paying attention to someone makes them go away... not the other way around.
logicnazi @ Dec 19th 2005 12:10AM
Sure, paris hilton is a celebrity and therefore has made a certain faustian bargain, giving up privacy and expectation of being left along for fame and fortune, arguably she has made this more than other celebrities. She may even have an annoying celebrity persona (though I hardly think she deserves personal blame for her day job, no more so than an actor deserves to be reviled for playing a dispicable character).
HOWEVER, none of these facts resolve someone of moral blame for delibrate acts of psychological cruelty. In fact I don't think anything makes it okay to delibrately inflict unnecessery pain on another person. Whether or not he 'just called her a few times' as an earlier poster claimed and regardless of the laws that govern this type of behavior he clearly intentionally made another person suffer.
Suppose your mother died and someone gave you 'a few calls' telling you how glad they were your mom was dead, described how they used to fuck her for money and pass her around to their friends and conveyed other nasty comments. Surely you would not take this with equinimity. While the cases aren't exactly identical the point is that words carefully calculated to disturb and hurt aren't exactly harmless. Moreover, the fact that your phone was publicly listed would not make these disparaging calls about your mother any more 'okay' and so neither would the easiness of hacking her password.
Of course this is all supposing this description here was accurate which I highly doubt. If anything I expect this 'hacker' was used as a stooge to release selected PR pics. Note, unless the entire thing was staged (in which case paris would know the threats were fake and not be concerned) I'm not suggesting that paris delibratly tried to get a threatening stalker. Rather I am suggesting that she moved on to another phone after the first sidekick incident and she and her PR company just loaded it up with material they wanted accidently released. The fact that the guy would be a threatening asshole probable was not part of their plans (so the FBI involvement might not have been part of the original plan but only to track down an unexpected threatening stalker rather than the plain information theft)
wolssiloa @ Dec 19th 2005 12:10AM
tmobile.com does let you change the password right then and there in the web browser if you get the phone number and the secret question correct. It doesn't message you on your phone or email you that it has been changed at all. Two days ago I tried it, and the procedure was like that. It's T-mobile's fault that they let you change the password on the website and doesn't at least inform you that it has been changed, or it doesn't SMS you a new temporary password either. And the secret questions every company uses are all the same. Anybody that knows you would probably know or can easily get all those answers, let alone someone being a celebrity. I feel really bad for her (if in fact this was planned by her publicity department, or maybe it was and she didn't know about it?).
Cambob @ Dec 19th 2005 12:10AM
I have the right to not like somebody and rip on them. And I do think that she deserves what she gets because she is a horrible person. Just because I am writing this on some stupid gadget blog doesn't make Paris famous... it's the all the stupid people who watch t.v. and worship useless people like her. I think it'll just take a little before she goes away. People will hopefully get sick of her and her incredibly stupid show. I cringe at thinking of all the young people out there who idolize her.
You're retarded logicnazi and a lot less intelligent than you think you are and try to be. And you care about this too much. Yikes.
Steve @ Dec 19th 2005 12:10AM
"She does not have a private jet. She is not nearly wealthy enough. The supposed "Hilton Fortune" is largely hype."
Yes she does, she most definatly does have a private jet as well as a helicopter, and a mansion in California. I believe she also has a house in New York.
Remember, she is the (partial) owner of the Hilton fortune---$38 Million
AD @ Dec 19th 2005 12:10AM
Okay I thought her phone being hacked was marginally funny at first, plus I thought it had to be a PR job ... after all she looked great in the pics.
But now I'm thinking, this seems a bit sad.
Blast Off @ Dec 19th 2005 12:10AM
ok, no one's mentioned this (or maybe someone has and i just missed it) - but there's something very suspect about one of these photos: http://www.joeytdog.com/gallery/getmore/Photo20135
look at the hand of the chick... that is NOT chick's hand, that is most definitely a dude's hand, no? seems it atleast.

The fact that T-Mobile hasn't been sued six ways from Sunday suggests this is yet another Paris Hilton publicity fest.
If that isn't the case, then at the very least it reinforces just how insecure today's wireless infrastructure is.
Instead of ruminating over a starlet's brouhaha, we'd do better to look at our own use of this technology and figure out where we are vulnerable.

I don't care, she deserved to get hacked for being stupid. And 3 phone calls is being harassed? Americans are hilarious.

Paris' left eye is smaller than her right. You'll notice it if you look at a picture of her looking straight into the camera. Her eyes and hair are also brown.

UNLESS THEY ARE CHILD RAPIST MURDERS. And I think that ppl are just jealous of her because she has a fortune. So quit being jealous of people just because they are rich. You guys dont have any idea what its like to be in hollywood. This guy i'm sure will eventually get caught.
