LG's planning on 5, 6, and 7-megapixel camphones in 2005
Samsung's currently the world-record holder for the highest-megapixel cameraphone on any market (5 on the
SCH-S250), but never to be outdone by the likes of them,
LG's talking some big talk about how this year they're planning on 5, 6, and even 7-megapixel cameraphones. LG VP Skott
Ahn even goes so far as to seriously call Samsung out on their obsession with the "world's first" label, claiming their
technology is so immature as not to feature an auto-focus lens or decent construction in case of a drop. Don't you just
love it when prominent electronics makers talk the mad
smack?

Finally!! We'll be able to see some hi-def shots of Paris Hilton's breasts. :-|
I could imagine that if 8MP prosumers are just out there as of last year..... putting a POS CMOS sensor of that high MP in a cam is going to make more POS junk. How about impriving on the OPTICS of the damn things currently out there?....
Eh.. not really.
More megapixels doesn't mean anything if the lenses suck.
I have seen older 2 and 3 megapixel cameras that smoke some newer 5 megapixel units because of the difference in lens quality.
Isn't that Matrix phone??
Man, that thing looks like Morpheus' (from The Matrix) ultra phat cellphone!
looks like the Palm Tungsten
I never got the obsession with a camera on a phone. We have two completely different ideas here, taking photographs, and speaking on a telephone. Ten years from now, we'll laugh at camera phones as we laugh today at large 80s mobiles, while we use our videophones.
