It's our birthday, and we're giving you the presents

Hey, it's our first birthday today and to celebrate we're having our biggest giveaway ever. Here are all the prizes:

A year's worth of Vonage's broadband telephone service.

Five 250 CD-to-MP3 conversion packages courtesy of RipDigital.
From Lexar, two of their brand spanking new 1GB JumpDrive Expression USB flash
drives.

And the biggie, a Treo 650 from Cingular courtesy of the folks at
ImportGSM.com.
Winning one of these fine prizes is easy: just tell us what's your favorite Engadget post of the past year. It can be anything, a regular post, an interview, a how-to, a review, or whatever, just paste up a link to it along with a couple of lines about why it's your fave and we'll pick nine winners at random from among the entries (and it'll be random who gets which prize). You have until noon on Sunday to enter, ok? Oh, and you can't enter more than once, and as usual, prizes can only be awarded to American residents. Good luck and happy birthday to us!
UPDATE: Contest closed! Thanks to everyone who entered, we'll announce the winners later this week.

As a college student biking to school everyday, I loved the post on the Kryptonite bike lock. I live in a neighborhood where bikes are stolen and picked often and wow what a great post and a great video.
Happy Birthday

My favorite is:
Honda to offer GPS on some motorcycles

I think it would be cool to bike around, knowing *exactly* were you are in the universe ;-) Don't you?
Happy Birthday!

The Archos PMA430, what I've been waiting for. Only if it were less expensive.
Happy Birthday!

Your coverage of CES was the best. I always will have you bookmarked! I had just gotten the av420 and this article made me want the pma430.
I a big fan of engadget. I came here to look at this:
http://www.engadget.com/entry/1234000650032196/
And when saw this story, realized this was one of the best sites for this sort of knowledge, and have been a very loyal reader ever since:

Thanks for the stories, keep um' coming.

The 7.2GHz overclock story...
This was the first post I received via the RSS feed when I first tried out a new RSS reader. I had never seen the site before, but the feed URL was pre-listed in the software. There's nothing spectacular about the post itself, but because it was interesting news I was instantly curious for what else Engadget would tell me about in the days to come. Reader for life, now!

Happy birthday!
This is my favorite product. I've been looking for a new mp3 player that wasn't an apple. Finally someone came out with one that I like and have all the functions that I want.
Can't wait for the XD-501 to hit the market this month.
Happy B-Day Engadget.
My favorite post is when you gave the "hot to make your own iPOD Shuffle" by sticking a post-it note over a regulat iPOD screen. That was just very clever and deliciously hilarious. Cheers!

Forget implants: the breast enlarging ringtone
Why? Why not!
What's better than bigger breasts on all the gals? Not much...except maybe an article/how-to about a cell phone virus/hack to sekritly put this on your GF's cell phone. ;-)
Recent came across your site and love it, so guess the favorite post must be this:

Or any other post about the next generation Rio Karma.
I love my current one, but would like more than 20 gigs, and a slightly thinner unit. I hang on your every karmic word with baited breath...
Happy birthday Engadget!
keep up the good work!
I liked the PSP hands-on review most:

I'm glad spending a couple of months here, so I can buy one way before home in europe. I hope to qualify as american resident. I have a permanent address here, so ...

The Ask Engadget's are the best features and the above article was the best of the best.
It was great info.
Happy Birthday!
My favorite post is http://hdtv.engadget.com/entry/1234000167030871/. I had just bought an HDTV and the post brought home the absurdity of the different standards and connections that apply to HDTV.

I thought this was cool. I am still trying to figure out the best uses since I use the same computer all the time but it is still cool.
I love winning these contests...

gotta love it when engadget asks the tough questions.
My faveorite post is the one on how to use the gmail account as a personal file server.
http://www.engadget.com/entry/1234000640033887/
What a great idea and oh-so helpful!!
My favorite post is a relatively recent one: turning your Gmail account into a file server. Great stuff!

My favorite post is http://www.engadget.com/entry/3363705371535683/ on the iKub.
Why? Because I submitted it, that's why!
Happy B-day Endgaget, been an avid reader since day one, keep it up.

This was my favorite link of the year. The PSP is one of the biggest things in gaming this year and this tutorial of how to put video on the PSP was a huge help to me and many many others. I am involved in many different PSP forums and this link comes up very often in every forum I contribute to.

shows me how to make a great part of the internet even greater

this one, because it is your birthday, and nothing is more important to me than your birthday. And good cheese. Yeah, your birthday and good cheese mean more to me than just about anything else. Except winning something.
I really don't have a favorite post; it's more of the way your site is run. Your posts always have comments that express my exact sentiments. Just like you post today about Sprint selling the AirCard 580 (http://www.engadget.com/entry/1234000517034303/). There’s a comment about getting the deadbeat roommate to clean the bathroom; that’s my favorite part of Engadget.

Because it's so cool that technology lets us replicate a gimmick that was introduced decades ago.
Joyeux anniversaire!
Hands down, the coverage from the Macworld 2005:
http://www.engadget.com/entry/1234000477026962/
Timely, accurate information that was clearly ahead of both the mainstream news media AND Apple itself.
This is a great example of why blogs will be so important in the coming future.
Good job and way to be timely.

i like this, because it was the beginning of something great :)
http://engadget.com/entry/1234000110026534/
without question, the ihome article. it was nice to see the photos there.. and since this is the gadget site i read, this was where i first read about what would eventually be a huge deal.
<3 for engadget
keep it up!
The PSP review is by far my favorite entry this year. It is very iformative and told me every thing I needed to know about this must have gaget. Plus it included all sorts of mouth watering pictures.http://www.engadget.com/entry/1234000510024287/
http://wireless.engadget.com/entry/3237902812490880/
I liked the breast enlarging ringtone too, but this one is my favorite, because it exemplifies the kind of posts we ought to see here.
Kudos to you guys. Congrats on one year!

I like Mechs. :)
Happy Birthday Engadget!

Which led me to discover the Bluespoon AX bluetooth headset. It's literally the most kick-ass headset ever.
Now I need that Treo 650 to go with it. :-)
I love entries that take a lot of hard work to accomplish and are fun to read about, but have little or no practical use. Like playing a "movie" on your iPod photo.

Here was my favorite story:

Still can't believe someone would make a humidifier for a computer!?!??!?!?!
For a guy who loves gadgets (and has become the office gadget guy), this is one of my favorite sites.

HOW-TO: Play “movies” on an iPod Photo
Although I love when you show the latest stuff, this one was hilarious!

this post is all about the greater good of mankind. thats what technology is for.
The best post is definitely this one ( http://www.engadget.com/entry/1234000573034243 ) purely because of the great ROI and also because I can't find the one I'm actually looking for.
http://www.engadget.com/entry/1234000573034243
is definately my favorite now. those are some damn nice prizes.

Anything involving robots is automatically bumped to the top of the list.
Also, the concept of a lifesaving robot trolling around Japan is just too good to pass up.

No doubt, the iHome is the best although it is fake.
Honestly... I like it all - your site really has made its way into my little heart! Thanks guys and keep it up!
I thought you (or someone else) had been reading my mind when I saw a post for this bluetooth cassette adapter (now if someone would only start selling one!)
http://wireless.engadget.com/entry/1234000127032903/
Definitely the live MacWorld coverage. It was more engrossing than an episode of 24. I felt like I was really there with hundreds of my geek friends.

This is my fave since it's one of the funniest real-life incidents posted on engadget :) Vodafone is one of the largest companies in europe and it's really funny to hear them make an official statement ilke this : “we would never sell a phone that was enabling someone to see someone naked.”
This was my favorite article 10,000:1 that is insane
http://homeentertainment.engadget.com/entry/1234000597033162/
FYI you guys rock
Loved the article on how to turn a Mac Mini into a low-cost home recording studio. Very timely and informative.
