Arizona Cardinals running back swipes laptop

So the day after getting signed to the Arizona Cardinals, running back Larry Lee Ned decided that the way to really, really party would be to swipe somebody's Dell laptop after going through a security checkpoint at the airport in Phoenix (the laptop's owner was still being screened). The cops ended up arresting him in possession of the laptop in a men's room in Terminal 4, and the next day the Cards announced they were dropping him from the team. Wait a second, you just got signed to the Arizona Cardinals and you decide it's a good idea to jeopardize your NFL career by stealing a laptop? Wait another second, you jeopardized your NFL career to steal a Dell?
Thats just sad... not to mention stupid as he**!!!!
I guess it's back to the streets for Larry, which is where it sounds he belongs. Wait, maybe I shouldn't have gone out and spent 2 mil without playing yet, whoops ...Mom is that room at home still available, I'll do chores I promise

You know, here's a guy who could now afford almost any "blinged-out" laptop on the planet. What the heck could have attracted him to one of the ugliest computers out there? I know it wasn't their customer service.
Now if it were the Sony Vaio X505 Carbon Fiber I would completely understand.

i have had nothing but bad luck with dells. namely their laptops. everyone i know that owns one has had to replace at least one part on it in the first year. mostly hard drives. sometimes the screen. and once the whole mobo. plus, their tech support is in india and when you talk to them you have to have them repeat themselves over and over again. to their credit, they do send replacement parts very quickly. . . . but i would sure rather to not ever talk to tech support about broken hardware and have a decent laptop.

Sounds to me like Arizona got off early. You just know that this brainiac would have pulled some crap later if he didn't get caught now, and could have REALLY embarassed the team.
But I'm also shocked that he didn't have an iron-clad contract that would have let him off on this, and/or is now posting a lawsuit against the airport and the NFL.

Why is everyone making such a big deal? He signed with the Arizona Cardinals, so it isn't like he had a great NFL career to forward to anyway. He just decided he'd rather be pounded in the a** by guys who might have some respect for him.
I don't understand why the team let him go. Really. After all Leonard Little of the St. Louis Rams killed someone while driving drunk and he's still playing for the Rams! What's a little theft?
Maybe he should have attempted to hijack the plane. Maybe he'd still have a contract...
No one can say anything about this.We weren't there and dont know what happened. Just because its printed in the newspapers doesn't mean its a true statement. This is a good man with a good family back ground. Dont Judge others if you dont know the whole story. GOD BLESS larry and his family. The truth will come out and it will show that he did NOT steal anything.
Dave M's comments are interesting. Sports celebrities do much more awful things and get away with a slap on the wrist or less. Without commenting on the morals of this it does seem inconsistent.

I BELIEVE IT'S SAFE TO ASSUME THAT AFTER ALL OF THIS HAPPENED THAT THE ACTUAL OWNER THE DELL CAME LOOKING FOR HIS COMPUTER. AT THAT TIME THE ALLEGATIIONS WERE SET FORTH BY THE TSA. WITH NO ACKNOWLEDGEMENT TO THE FACT THAT SHE SOLD THE LAPTOP TO MR. NED. IM NOT ONE TO PUT THE CONSPIRACY THEORY INTO AFFECT BUT I KNOW LARRY. I KNOW LARRY MAKES BEETER DECISIONS THEN THAT. This is a very credible website. They would not post anything on here that they didn't first research. Two this blog is open to the general public who in turn can express their views on the issue which is our right not only by the consitution but the people who run this site. i personally travel with my laptop quite frequently and there are quite often circumstances in which i have an oppurtinity to leave it unattended, and without case or anything else- as airport screening requires it to be seperated from anything else during the xray checks. real smart decision on your "friend's" part, bucko.

I just can not believe that the general public would think that a man with a NFL contract would steal something like a lap top. you can buy dell's for like 500 dollars. I personally don't buy this story and think that there is alot more to it then what the media is telling. People make these men out to be hero's then one thing happen's and all the sudden they are "trash" or "from the ghetto" or an"idiot" seems to people the people with the problems are those of you who would believe this trash. come one he had to be making hundereds of thousands of dollars. Think about it... I don't know that someone would give all that up for a dell laptop.
