Motorola @ CTIA - PEBL V6 hands on
It took a great deal of pocket lining of Moto top brass and behind the scenes torture room sessions in order to bring you guys these hands on pictures of the PEBL V6, but you know we wouldn't leave you hanging. Our apologies on the quality, however; we couldn't get ahold of this elusive creature until after dark in a very dimly lit alley in the PR district of town, and only then with our backup camera. Also bear in mind, this was a pre-production unit so we have no way of knowing how the phone will actually end up. What was it like to use, you may ask? Well, if you really want to know, stranger, it has a somewhat slippery surface, a solid, reasonably heavy weight, and a deep smokey/carbon metallic case which serves as the perfect fingerprint collection machine and flash-bulb deflector—perfect for obsessive-compulsive Hollywood paparazzi dodgers, and just the way we likes it.

Ok, now that is a cool phone and one that I might actually buy with cash money.
Dangit, why does my contract have to be coming up right now? What's a guy to do when he gets locked into a 2 year contract?

So who wants to buy a kidney? Don't worry, you've got until this thing comes out to make your decision.

Does anyone else prefer the original keypad over the RAZR-esque version shown at CTIA? See link:

Actually, those buttons from that linked image look like they would be hard to work at any speed (ie speed dialing or texting) whereas the RAZR buttons are suprisingly tactile despite their flat appearance. I prefer the way they are here.
I'm curious about the clamshell action. From what I understand, the top slides down a little and then pops open automatically, is this still the case? One one my peeves with clamshells is the fact that my stubby thumb can't easily open them with one hand. A spring-loaded clamshell would be welcome.
