Nokia's new 8000 series handset
Not sure if this bad boy is sheathed in stainless steel, brushed aluminum, titanium or some other trendy metal, but
some pics have surfaced of a new Nokia handset which slides open to reveal a keypad. No details on its specs or when
this phone might come out or even what it's called, but it appears it'll be part of the 8000 series (esp. since it
looks like it's a descendent of Nokia's 8910 handset).
[Thanks, antonio and David]

looks more like a descendent of the 8890. The 8910s popped out of their casings rather than having a slider

Actually, you mean the 8810, pictured here: http://www.nokia.com/nokia/0,8764,140,00.html
I loved my old 8810, but the awful analog and the shoddy reception eventually made me upgrade. The design though, was always the best, and still puts to shame anything Nokia has come up with since. Hopefully this new 8xxx model will up the ante with bluetooth, etc. Now if only it had a camera in it...

I had an old 8860... kept it until it died. I'd definitely get this, provided they fix the antennae issues from the 8860.

Looks like a couple of Nokias that we used to have here (Europe) forget the models. One was brushed and the other was polished. The polished ones are a finger print disaster. They came with a special cloth for clenaing them. The other major problem with both was the buttons were extreamly dificult to press, esp for cubby busniess man fingers ;-)

Finally, a worthy successor to my trusty 8890. Mobile Review has an English translation of their article at:

I have to say I still think the 8890 looks better than this thing. The slider looks like a big scoop.
