Glow brick rechargable nightlight
Design team Suck UK brings us the ultimate in trendy simplicity: a nightlight whose encased bulb recharges from
natural light during the day, and glows ethereally at night. Functional, aesthetic and environmental for $45 — your
nightstand could do worse.

Hmmm,
So how many people does it take to change it?

Okay - Now I am wondering, should I send in a "tip" for every single "glow in the dark" plastic toy I see. Science Museum places have been selling this stuff for ages. How many of you, as kids, had glow in the dark plasic stars and planets stuck on your bedroom ceiling?
That's all this is, as far as I can tell - you can't turn it off so if you want darkness you, what, throw your pants over it?
If I start melting down those plastic stars and pouring the resultant mess into dead lightbulbs does anyone want to give me $20 a piece for them?
Engadget, wassup, struggling to find anything good to report today?!

"Engadget, wassup, struggling to find anything good to report today?!"
Well, call me uninformed, but I did not know about this previously. And I want one.
So, thanks Engadget!

I just did a quick review of something similar, but much cheaper. It is a plastic flower that charges during the day and then glows at night. It is similar to the Solar Plant that was on Engadget earlier. It also gets bright gradually so it is dim during twlight and gets brighter as it gets darker out... good fun for $12.

D - we are getting awfully close with nano-publishing, but it won't be until we perfect the fine art of pico-publishing that we'll be able to peer inside your brain and deliver precisely that content which you, personally, have never seen before. Until that magical day, you could try just, you know, waiting 20 minutes for the next story.
Regards,
Barb

every solar light I've owned, has batteries that have to be replaced after 1-4 years... what's the product lifespan? can I give it to my grandkids to sell on ebay2020?

I had a plastic statue of Jesus that did the same thing when I was a kid.
It was eerie.
Tanks, granny

Matthew, you call that a flame. Try alt.sysadmin.recovery ;)

I have one of these, unfortunately it's not quite as impressive as pictured. Still a nice ornament for the corner of my desk though :D

So is this an homage to, or just a blatant rip-off of, Koskinen's block lamp?

This thing sucks terribly. I bought one and it doesn't glow hardly at all!!! Don't buy one!
