iPod camera connector ready to order

So the previously announced iPod Camera Connector has shown up for ordering at the online Apple Store, though it's not set to ship for another one to three weeks. For only
$29 you can add photo download functionality to your iPod photo-with-no-built-in-camera-connection. We can see how not every iPod needs a dock, which makes that a sensible optional add-on, but this particular 'adapter' seems to add functionality that should already have been built-in. Now, if this proved to be a more generic USB adapter of the variety that would allow the iPod photo to act as a USB host — say, hook up a keyboard and input data right into the Notes application — we might raise an eyebrow about that. But eyebrows remain, currently, level.
