Secure that Mac mini in a PC drive bay
Not quite as clever or innocuous as a Powerbook in a Pizza
Box, but we're not about to refuse such a not-so-subtle and ironic jab as the "security though obscurity" of a Mac
mini in a PC drive bay—a Dell drive bay, no less. And we won't lay claim that the mini is actually really
obscured here, but what the hell, if we can put PCs
in Mac cases why can't it go the other way around?

Garbage... you should have posted this one:

what would be really neat is to have them coexist in the case... I'm sure you could do this with a larger case... now, if only I had $500 for an accessory to my PC :^).
As an avid mac user, that makes me squirm! All that design elegance for nothing!
Of course, the security that he was seeking through obscurity is now totally blown since this is all over the 'net...
This is rather amusing. I wonder if you could cram the inner workings of a PlayStation2 into a regular 5.25" dvd drive case. Then you could take it, a Mac mini, and an itx based micro pc (running linux) and stuff'em into an old school full height tower case with 5 bays and still have enough room to build in an AMD 64 based system with PCI express and 2 DL-DVD burners and a terabyte of storage running the 64 bit Windows beta. Add an internal pci ip router and a kvm switch mounted inside and you've got...
...well...an unholy mess to tell you the truth.
But it would be freakin' awesome.
Until you turn it on and the lights up and down your block dim. I suppose you'd need plenty of cold beer on hand because that thing would produce so much heat you might as well add a grill on top and take the convergence to the Nth degree.
Kinda like your own home office space mini rack with a touch of George Foreman.
If this has already been done (sans the grill I would assume) I'd appreciate a link...
Where the hell did you guys find my dell????
totally against the fundamental idea of Switch.
hell i like that pizza box better, a mac in a dell? your mom must've dropped you in the head
it should be mentioned that you can also boot the mini with a 5.25 floppy disk.
