The voluntary RFID implant
Privacy advocates the world over tremble with fear—the end is near! A man has voluntarily implanted an
RFID chip in himself, alert the tin-foil hat police
immediately. Why'd he do it? He doesn't seem too terribly sure, but he knows he wants to place RFID sensors all over
his house to automatically log him into his computer, open locks, and god only knows what else. Oh, and for what it's
worth, he didn't perform the surgery himself—he had a doctor friend pitch in. Weak!

Anyone out there thinks this looks like the mark of the beast...
So, personally, I'm not impressed at all.
I implanted an RFID chip into a friends left shoulderblade a couple weeks ago (with a big 10g needle) as part of his project for a keyless ignition system in his car... with the reader housed in the seat.
Email me for details if you want...
Damn idiots. Quit giving fodder for the televangelists. I'm sure that gimp Jack Van Impe will use this story to sell thousands of new videotapes to the guillible who want his so-called "ministry."
orin - would love to see some info on this keyless ignition project

"Watch", not want....
it aint fooder if it is true
The guy's implant is in the LEFT hand, not his RIGHT hand, Lester Jones. By the way, 1st Century A.D. called and asked to remind everyone that the "Anti-Christ" died back then...aka Emperor Nero...whose name when converted into its numeral equivalent, equals 666. P.S. The only reason why that Book is still in the Protestant version of the Bible is because Martin Luther decided it would be easy to use its symbolism to portray the Pope as the Anti-Christ and/or False Prophet. Luther was originally for removing that book completely from the Bible.

Oooh more RFID stuff - great!
Remember kids its not the mark of the beast any more than a credit card is - see the previous threads in rfid technology. So tell me Lester, are you serious, is this really the mark of the beast?
I repeat this on every RFID post. WHERE IS THE REMOTE CONTROL FINDER!?
1) There have been various methods of translating names into numerical values. There have been many names that can be conjured to equivalate 666 in some manner, however the Bible also gives required attributes and events in concert for the "anti-Christ". This is hardly a comprehensive explanation, however to say that Nero Caesar is the "anti-Christ" is biblically unlikely.
2) Not all Christians are Protestant or Luthern.
3) Not all Bibles depend on Luther's interpretation.
4) Christ, not Luther (a.k.a. genius/heretic/theologian) represents Christianity in its entirety.
5) Regardless of the interpretation of the "Mark of the Beast", what is the problem for Christians (as long as founded in knowledge and/or fact in the Bible) to be alert to the potential for the occurence?
Foreign objects tend to want to push themselves out eventually (especially since he will be using his hand and flexing it a lot). I wonder if one day he wakes up, and it is just laying there below his skin.
Even with the slightest chance a chip is the mark, why take the chance?

Wouldn't it be more practical and a bit more cooler to simply have an rfid "magic ring" to wear instead of an implant?
Inconvenience is one of the unsung joys of life.
