M-Audio Black Box amp modeling audio interface
M-Audio is rolling out a new audio interface designed specifically for guitarists that features amp modeling functionality on top of the typical preamps for guitar and microphone. The unit also includes 100 stock drum patterns for instant accompaniment in a variety of styles, with tap tempo and MIDI clock sync features, as well as beat-synced effects. Including separate preamps for 1/4-inch TRS and XLR inputs, the device can be used as a standalone unit (with headphone, 1/4-inch and digital S/PDIF outputs onboard) or as a recording unit for your Mac or PC, where it functions as a plug-in supporting Core Audio and ASIO. Shipping later this month, the $330 unit also integrates a guitar tuner and mic stand adapter.

as a musician and a nerd, it makes me happy to see something on Engadget that appeals to both. M-Audio makes great gear. this should be an awesome little toy...
Not sure what this will do that the PODxt wouldn't do (other than the rinky-dink sounding drum machine).
Engadget reviewed the PODxt Live a while ago:

The only interesting thing about this box is that M-Audio have licensed technology from the Adrenalinn - a very cool amp modeller/effects box designed by Roger Linn, who designed the first sampled drum machine.
So, the things it will do that the PodXT wont are - some cool tempo-synced filter business, and the probably ok-sounding drum machine.

A bit disappointing in this day and age: sampling rate is only 44.1KHz.
