PSP web browser?
Someone has gone and hacked the web browser hidden away in the PSP game Wipeout Pure to make it serve as a regular ol' browser — you know, for surfing the "real world" (wherever that is). The site is down as of this writing, but mirrors of screenshots (and supposedly video, though we couldn't get it to play) are available.

No, it's quite easy to change the web address actually. I'd post a link to the site where "Reed" has a step by step set up, that's really about 3 or 4 steps, but I don't have it memorized. Just search around google for psp surfing then net, you'll stumble across it. ;)
Someone needs to write some firmware for the psp to transfer files off of an ipods hard drive. Tons more space than ANY pro duo card and if you already have an ipod, you would be set.
Can sum1 please make a version of the web browser for the Japanese Wipeout Pure? i bought it so i could try the web browser but i dont think it contacts ingame.scea.com, i think the Japanese version goes to ingame.scea.ne.jp or ingame.scea.co.jp.
any help would be great
For the Japanese version, try this as your Primary DNS:
218.219.144.7
NOTE: this is a Japanese Portal site. I don't have a DNS server handy to make an English Portal for the Japanese Wipeout, but the hostnames you need to redirect appear to be :
wipeoutpurepsp.scej-online.jp
www.scej-online.jp
NOTE: on the Japanese version of the game, the "Downloads" link is called "Online" (if you select English as the language)

Can you stream audio or video through the
web browser? This is what I am really after--
something on the PSP that does what GS_PLAYER
perfoms on a PocketPC (streamed audio
shoutcast channels) and Windows Media
performs for streaming video (webcams, etc).
Streaming audio and video works well on
a pocketpc, but having it work on the PSP
would be nice...
Hopefully Sony can release a browser that renders pages quickly and makes good use of the analog control stick.
It seems like the D-pad could be used for dedicated up-down / side-side scrolling and the analog stick could be used to direct a cursor (for pointing and one of the other buttons for clicking).
For pages that are too big to view on the screen one could either use the D-pad to scroll around or direct the cursor to click on explorer-like scroll-bar buttons.
Sometimes, in my room, my PSP won't connect. Other times it's a great connection. Anyone know whats wrong? (the WLAN power save is OFF)
I need a dns or an explanation for the Japanese Version!! PLZZZZZZZ
hey i did it exactly like it said and it worked a couple of times; then i went out of town and tried it at a hotel but left my other settings the same and it hasnt worked anywhere since. any help? ive tried deleating the connection and redoing it and its the same. please help me!
Check out http://www.PSPWebSites.com and get a free personal PSP portal where you can add your own links, profile picture, choose colors, etc. It's kind of like Geocities for the PSP. Mainly it's super easy to set up and you don't need your own server.
How do u type a URL into the browser with no keypad? Is anyone tried this and been satisfied enough to encourage others to buy it? Please reply!

I have the web browser working on my PSP. I got it out of OPS Magazine in the June issue. It works great. It works mainly of of links but you can input URL's in the bar.
I have one question, can you surf the web anywhere in the world, or just at your house where you have a wireless router?
i have a wireless router, wipeout pure, and the motive, all u have to do is go into the network settings and change the dns ip to one of the two available current psp servers up and then go into the wipeout pure downloads section and u have a fully functional psp, i only stated this because some of u dont belive that it is possible, well thats up to u but i know that i have went from google, a few news sites, myspace, and thehun.net on my psp lol, its a lengthy typing process but it works great, the navigation is simular to that of using keys on a keyboard to move from link to link
i wrote this with my PSP!
what was the browser you got from ops, is there a way to get to the internet without using wipeout?
i got the game wipeout but it wont go into the web i did every thing it says 2 do and it says erroe (80110482)

depending on whe you purchased your game of wipeout will determine wether or not you can hack it, the new version has an update built inot it which automatically loads, and will prevent you from hacking the psp. may have to find a new way around it...
or you could wait for firmware vversion 2.0 wichg is in japan nad you can donwload it and update the american psp, in the update it include a browser and theme support also can download mp3's and videos from the net to you psp and play back
also for thoes that like security they have update wi-fi to support the wpa-tke key protection
What is firmware? I don't have Wipeout Pure, and i don't want to buy it to access the web browser. So everybody says to wait for the firmware upgrade version 2.0. When is it going to be released and how do you obtain it? Do you obtain it by going to Network Update in the PSP system? Somebody please help!!!!!!!!!!!! You can post help on this site,(address your talking to me by saying Garett), or you can email me help at gfunkfb67wp@yahoo. Thanks
Here is a tip about what people are selling on eBay these days. Couple of weeks ago a guy sold an M&M wrapper for about $2400. It was not a wrapper that was touched or the content had been eaten by some celebrity. It was just a regualar good old M&M candy wrapper.
Today, there is another item on eBay for sale presented to you by truely. It is an "Imaginary Friend". The bit is starting at $1.00. Once the public know more about it; I am sure it will be sold at much higher price than anyone can expect to sell an Imaginary Friend. After all we all have had our own and some where and somehow he/she disappeared amid growing up.
