Samsung's new SCH-i539 Palmphone
We know this is totally a tease for anyone who is still pissed about Sprint quietly killing their plans to bring the
i550 to the States, but Samsung's just introduced a brand new Palm-powered CDMA smartphone for the Chinese market. The
SCH-i539 won't work over here (it's not compatible with domestic CDMA networks), but it does run on Palm OS 5.4 and
come with 64MB of ROM, 32MB of RAM, an SD memory card slot, and support for playback of MP3 audio files and WMV and
MPEG4 video files.
[Thanks, Jonatan]

If you're among the folks who are disappointed that Sprint cancelled the i550 you can sign a petition to let Sprint know:

It says CDMA 800. As far as I know the chinese use the same Rx and Tx as we do, and of course verizon has 800 spectrum - so why wont it work here?

It's being called the SCH-i539 no SPH, do a google search yourself

Hey, Mark? I'm curious to know if more than zero of those online petitions have ever achieved anything at all.
I'd love that Samsung phone (although my Treo 650 sucks way less than I thought it would), but I'm not holding my breath.

It depends on what you're trying to achieve. I have no illusions that Sprint will change their decision because of this petition, but at least we can let them know we're paying attention and we were dissapointed. Maybe that will have an effect on future decisions... OK, probably not. ;-)

Hmmm....it support WMV, wonder how did they managed to do that, thought MSFT wouldn't release WMV support to anything besides windows (or they will sue the pants off anyone that attempted to do so by their own)
Would be get if we can use this on other Palms.
