Playlistmag takes a look at the options for iPod remote control and weighs in with their recommendations. Models put through the ringer include: ABT's iJet (aka the Targus RemoteTunes), DLO's iDirect, Engineered Audio's Remote Remote 2, Griffin Technology's AirClick, and two units from Ten Technology: naviPod and naviPro eX. They discover fortunately that most of the units (save the naviPod) also control iPod photo slideshows, and that unfortunately, most are crap when used outdoors. Overall, they give the title in the RF remote department to the iJet, with the AirClick coming in a close second. In the IR remote category, the naviPro eX is the clear winner, and that unit also wins the overall award for its added featureset beyond any of the other remotes. If you're in the market for a solution to control your little white dealio from a distance, this article gives a good rundown on why you might favor either an RF or IR solution.
