palmOne Tungsten E2 review roundup
Alright, so the LifeDrive is
still nowhere to be found, but palmOne did follow through and drop their new
Tungsten E2 handheld on us earlier this morning. Like we
said, it's not crazy different from the original Tungsten E (the E2 adds Bluetooth, a faster processor, a
longer-lasting battery, and a brighter, crisper display), but the E did also happen to be palmOne's best-selling model
(two million and counting), so they'll probably sell plenty of these regardless. Not many reviews of the Tungsten E2
have been published yet, but we've compiled a list of the ones we've been able to find. If you spot any more, let us
know and we'll add them to the list:

Yawwwwwwwwwwwwwwn,
Hehe. But really, Palm is _so boring_.

Yup, boring and it comes in that god-awful packaging you have to attack with every sharp implement in the house to open.
Brian @ Dec 19th 2005 12:13AM
Ho-hum.

This thing has got no voice recorder. Unbelievable. As much as some people may not like how much control Microsoft has over hardware that comes with its software (deservedly so), there are definitely some advantages to that approach, in that all licensees of the Windows Mobile operating system have to have such things as a microphone, a minimum quality screen, a speaker, certain buttons, etc. Palm is so 1999.

I feel i must stand up for the Palm Tungsten. The Battery life is significantly better than most PDA's with over 12hrs of MP3 playback and 5hrs video playback. And about the microphone, do you really want to listen to the sound of your voice that much that a microphone is a "must have", why not just jot down a note? Also you do not need leicencing standards to be sure of the quality of a PDA and or it's software. The competition amoung all PDA manufactuers is high enough that it ensures good quality products.
Last but not least, what makes Palm more boring than other PDA's?
