Remington's Eye Ball R1 omnidirectional spycam
Outside the punny name, we're not sure what Remington's Eye Ball R1 does too much differently than any other
government-grade remote monitoring system—but we can't think of too many you're supposed to roll, toss, lower, lob, or
throw one into a crime scene where it can keep an, uh, eye on villainous goings on. The omnidirectional R1 transmits
streaming audio and video up to 600 feet with a 28-foot IR/night-vision feature and 2-hour battery life. Not bad you're
going to have to be a mite clever to figure out a way to get a baseball sized device on premises without arousing the
attention of expectedly jumpy criminals.

Does this remind anyone else of the "Death Star"?

If you go to Remington site:

Things become clearer. There are what look like little feet at the bottom of the sphere, and a good guess is that this thing is weighted to land on those feet when tossed. (Weebles wobble, but they don't fall down!) The camera portion rotates 360 independently of the base.

The R1 will self-right after it's stopped moving and it can be aimed/tilted via wireless remote control.

If Hollywood ever makes SWAT 2, I'm sure we'll see this thing in action. Those fiber-cams are so over.
