iTunes Music Store to finally hit Australia on Thursday?
So it didn't happen back in January, but it may happen
this week — at least according to the harbinger of all things iTunes: Russell Crowe. The actor/erstwhile rocker blabbed
the launch date of the long-awaited iTMS Australia to the press, which could be open for business as early as this
Thursday. However, the word is that tracks will come in at $1.80 Aussie (about $1.40 USD), which has already been the
subject of complaint from Australian Mac users. At that price, people may as well just buy the CD. Since it's pretty
much the recording industry that's responsible for setting up these ridiculous pricing schemes across the board, we
have them to thank for continually failing to understand the digital age. Good show, mates.
[Thanks, Alan]

and the crowd says..... who cares?!
Just buy cd's......! rip them..........
will this include new zealand?
new what? Just Kidding!!!!!!
Meh. I was looking forward to this but not at that price. Aren't they supposed to be encouraging people to buy music instead of stealing it?
Do you really think they'll release before Tiger and take away it's lime light? Although, it would coinside with the Pepsi Australia free iPod mini giveaway
Nothing like a good fake Australian i.e Russell Crowe (New Zealander) to launch an Australian based product.
Who gives a shit, I'm Australian and I don't care.
If Engadget must try some bad Aussie slang here's a tip:
"Good show, mates" is just sooooh not Australian. "Corker Mate" or perhaps... "Cracker Mate".
But since Russell Crowe is a New Zealander he wouldn't speak 'Strine at all... but NahZahLundish! so you should be writing:
"Choice Bro - cahnt wait tuh dunload Splut Inz und Dragon"
Translation into Californication (not) by Gooooogle... "Excellent Dude - can't wait to download Split Enz and Dragon" - both of which are great 'fake' Australian bands from the 80s.
